Deathadder 2013

I was considering buying one, but noticed that some people say it has some 'smoothing', not present in earlier versions of the DA. Is this something to avoid?

I'm coming from a G500, which I have decided to abandon due to the acceleration.

Try this mouse instead, it's from Anker. I have been using it for 6 months now and well worth the 40 dollars and then some. It's got multiple programmable buttons, a ****tastic GUI application like razer, weights, and changeable LED lights. It compares to mice in the 60 to 100 dollar range. Buy it and never look back!

Are you playing FPS games? That Anker will definitely not work for you. Sugi why would you recommend a mouse using the exact same sensor architecture that the OP is complaining about? The ADNS-9800 suffers from the exact same problems as the 9500, which he has in his G500.

I would take a look at the Mionix Naos 7000, Mionix Avior 7000, and SteelSeries Rival. I have a Sensei now and also am getting tired of overshooting enemies when doing flickshots at 60cm/360. As a result, I personally have a Rival on the way to me which I bought just earlier this week. The best thing about the mice I just listed is that they are all using the new 3310 optical sensor, which has perfect 1:1. The S3988 in the DA 2013 that you mentioned does have some extra input lag, and it's been mentioned quite a few times on the forum. To play it safe, the 3310 is your best bet sensor, and the mice I mentioned are all available now and come armed with it.

I haven't notice any issues that you are referring to. I would still recommend this mouse to anyone and everyone.

Doesnt matter if you notice or not, those issues still are present and make you aim worse. And that anker mouse is full of useless gimmicks.

The problem is definitely there. Go ahead, point at a specific object, flick your mouse quickly to the right, then slowly return it to exactly the same spot. You'll end up more to the right of the original point than you started at. This is the infamous Avago/Pixart laser sensor issue.

The anti smoothing mice would be Zowie mice, but with Zowie mice you get very little customization. They work best at 2300 dpi.But very very good sensor at that dpi.

Yeah, FPS.

Thanks for the tips; just what I was looking for.

I'll probably go with a Mionix.

There's a huge thread on the Avior 7000 floating around on this forum, lots of info there as well. It was really tempting, but my setup already uses quite a bit of SS so I figured I'd just go for the Rival anyway. Those side grips look comfy too, but the Avior is super attractive to me as well.
