First off A bunch of AIDA 64 Benches at 4.5 GHZ.

I haven't forgotten I'm waiting for this never ending, overtime filled, work week to end so I can download all the stuff I want to do and have the time to do it RIGHT.

In the meantime send your request to the inherently awesome "Other Kaveri Guy", who apparently was the only other person on this board crazy enough to walk into a store on launch day and throw down.

A Swiftech MP 355 Pump, Swiftech 240MM Radiator (I have a 360 waiting to be added, but I'm not adding it till I get my R9 290), Raystorm AM3+ Cpu Waterblock, and Swiftech Radiator. I have yet to break 50C even pumping 1.50 volts through this chip in Prime. So yeah you should be fine. It's a 95 watt chip so it's a lot cooler than us AMD FX and Phenom II user's are used to.

I'd rather just stick with a person that has explicitly said that they'd do it. I've had issues in the past getting people to benchmark Dolphin, so I'd much rather take a guaranteed yet delayed benchmark result rather than one that may never happen.

So me asking about the Dolphin bench not happening yet was purely me being paranoid.

DemonKev. I have no option to disable cores in the bios of my ASrock A88X Extreme 6 board unless I'm missing something.

must be a board thing then

FlanK3r, said he does have that option on the ASUS A88X-PRO FM2+

so no worries.

4.0ghz kaveri can get near this?

do note that with other cores disable I have more 50% more fetch here and 33% more instruction cache compared to kaveri
I forgot about the 8mbs of L2 cache vs kaveri 4mbs

I am now. Thank you for pointing that out I will change the benches out for ones on the new platform. In the meantime for your viewing pleasur (in celebration that I might have 4.6 GHZ stable, r.e. Might)...

P.S. No worries Nintendo I know how much this means to you and I will follow through on my word. Part of my delays when I am not working I am trying to get certain oveclocks stable (Luckily I'm watercooling and temps are nominal so worse case scenario I can brute force) as it appears I have gotten kind of dud of a chip that hates anything past 4.5.

****and forget that, back to 4.5. I fear I might have to wait till I have a better power supply next week as everytime I try to pump 1.5+ to break this barrier I am met with an automatic shutdown as if the computer is drawing way more power than it can handle. I thought it was temps at first btw, but even when I could boot and bench at 1.5 volts my chip in Prime never passed 48C.

Oh well Rocketfish Huntkey you lived an unexpectedly long and fruitful life. Hopefully Other Kaveri Guy is having a better time clocking than I am.

No I doubut it. 4.5 Ghz Did 105 Single and 372 Multi.

I imagine 4.0 would do 98 single and 350 multi. I will however downclock and attempt right now

Here you go. I was wrong. 96 Single and 339 Multi at 4.0 GHZ

P.S. lemme know what "Other Kaveri Guy" gets with core's disabled. I'm curious myself.

That's what I was going to say. And that was an FX-8120. Kind of hard to believe BD cores (even with some cores disabled) would do better in single threaded than SR cores. But maybe I'm missing something confused.gif
