ok so I called the welding place back and told them like you guys said 35L was too little and $180 was too expensive.

With only one day notice they can deliver a 600 pound tank to my house filled with 170L for $200 after the delivery fee and I keep it for 2 days. I think that sounds great. That will include protective masks and gloves and a delivery spout.

The only thing I need to figure out now is how to get it from the tank in my driveway to inside my house. I will have to fill a thermos in the driveway and walk into house. Hopefully that will work.

You just slightly tip the tank and start spinning it, this will allow you to "walk" the tank into your garage. (assuming you have a garage)

Pretty much! Today I had to get rid of a 400 L cylinder because it was empty and it was fun tilting and spinning something about 3 foot taller than me though lol

SI1: How are you getting the LN2 to the benching session? Do you have a dewar?

Well that's what I am asking. Can the tank sit in my driveway and I fill it right in the driveway and bring whatever container I use into the house to pour. It will have a delivery spout on it. I just need to find a container that can transfer it safely.

The welding places biggest dewar is only the 35L so after that it is these tanks. I guess i could also ask for the 35L dewar and use that to fill. Wouldn't an uncovered thermos be ok for a quick transfer to the house for pouring.

Sorry for all the off topic questions but I figured since this card was designed for ln2 it is somewhat relevant.

The tank would be in my driveway and the benching inside my house.

Oh will you be transporting the tank to the session or are you hosting the session at your place? Either way, the tank should be fine wherever you place it, you may just get some odd looks when you pour out LN2 into a dewar. I personally wouldn't risk a thermos but maybe someone else can chime in if they have used a thermos for a limited time. A 35 L dewar will be heavy, see if you can also get a smaller dewar so you can go Tank outside -> 35 L dewar from outside to inside -> Small handheld dewar/thermos from 35 L dewar to pour into LN2 pots.

ya they do have much smaller ones so I will try that. The guy even told me there are certain plastic containers I can use to transfer it for small periods of time but just to make sure I never put the cap on the thermos or container. it's cool he will throw in the protective gear. The place is only a few minutes from my house so this could be really cool. If i buy a dewer of my own I can go there whenever I need to fill it up

ya since it's only 2 of us so far I will do it at my house. So that should work perfect. They will deliver tank to driveway and I will fill whatever container in the driveway and then bring it into the house for pouring.

You need to get the guy's 35L dewar also.

Here are your preferred handling steps: BIGLN2 tank > 35L dewar via the unloading hose > tip the dewar to fill some sort of insulated thermos > pour into the pot(s)

With no 35L dewar

BIGLN2 > fill several insulated thermos via unloading hose (like 5-10) > pour into pots from insulated thermos
