The place is only a few minutes from my house so this could be really cool. If i buy a dewer of my own I can go there whenever I need to fill it up

ya since it's only 2 of us so far I will do it at my house. So that should work perfect. They will deliver tank to driveway and I will fill whatever container in the driveway and then bring it into the house for pouring.

A few thermos' to fill at a time would be OK to get through the 3d benchies, with a frozen gpu & cpu you want a good 3 liters on hand to run one of the longer benches. Also a propane torch & thermostat, if the gpu has cold bugs you need to know what temperature it bugs out at & will probably need to warm up the pot at some point. Mapp gas on the torch is better than regular propane.

SI1: How are you getting the LN2 to the benching session? Do you have a dewar?

Well that's what I am asking. Can the tank sit in my driveway and I fill it right in the driveway and bring whatever container I use into the house to pour. It will have a delivery spout on it. I just need to find a container that can transfer it safely.

The welding places biggest dewar is only the 35L so after that it is these tanks. I guess i could also ask for the 35L dewar and use that to fill. Wouldn't an uncovered thermos be ok for a quick transfer to the house for pouring.

Sorry for all the off topic questions but I figured since this card was designed for ln2 it is somewhat relevant.

The tank would be in my driveway and the benching inside my house.

I know you want it bad dude ,but in order to have this session enjoyable there is preparation involved and since you haven't done any LN2 previously this could lead to no-fun ,I would strongly recommend getting 25L Dewar first or you would be running around not getting anything done
tools :
-insulation material (insulate smart ,it doesn't have to be crap load but lite with proper method ,make sure the room is not humid
-DMM/Thermometer
-Stainless steel flasks/thermoses 1L + (Menards )
Here is how I do it -fill up 25~35L Dewar and have it next to my bench (I have Dewar ( cork from leftover insulation) on the couch about 30inch above floor so tipping/filling up (thermos) is very easy ,pour slowly and you won't need all the safety crap (I do it barefooted in my underwear ..lol ..I'm not kidding (only in summer time tho )
First time I would rent it for more then 2 days and just take it slow on the first day and get familiar with the whole procedure ,if you only going to freeze GPU it should be easy

EDIT; torch ,like 420 mention also
EDIT2 ; you probably have OC panel=thermometer

With no 35L dewar

BIGLN2 > fill several insulated thermos via unloading hose (like 5-10) > pour into pots from insulated thermos

Thanks a lot for the tips guys. This is going to get done one way or another. i have been talking and thinking about it way too long not to try and now that the kingpin has come a long it seems like the perfect time. I am ordering some 10mm neoprene sheets for the gasket and I might try the vaseline method because it seems easy. I was reading you should heat it up a bit with a heat gun so it gets into all the crevices. And then I guess the torch is used to create the crust. Hopefully all goes well. I will definitely post everything here. I am so tempted just to grab the small 35L dewar just for the gpu just to practice a bit this weekend.

Wait, so you didn't sell the KPEs? I thought you had finally decided to keep the regular classifieds. Or did the buyer agree to one of each?
you might think 35L is small until you fill it up and try to manhandle it ,take your time ,visit the LN2 section there is a lot of good info posted or PM some of the pros ,good luck and have fun thumb.gif

Well he agreed to one of each. he wasn't really happy with me but he did agree to it. I gave him one of my golden classy's and a kingpin for $1300 shipped so I feel like I made up for the delaying a little bit. it still doesn't excuse it but hopefully he is happy. So now I still have one of my classy ti's and my kingpin. I couldn't sell a card that does 1500 core on water. I really don't care about the memory at all. Plus if the hynix memory does exhibit some cold bugs at around -50c then the kingpin should be a bit easier to work with the samsung ram under ln2.

thanks, I need to take my time but I know I wont. I am very obsessive and once I get something in my head I have to accomplish it. It's all I have been thinking about since I got the kingpin. This forum definitely pushed me towards it. Again thanks a lot for your help and posts. +rep.

I understand the kingpin a lot more now. It's a card that allows beginners to jump into XOC a lot easier than it normally would be. usually you would need to have some soldering skills to get this kind of power delivery, and with the XOC bios the TDP will not be an issue at any voltage. This is truly a card with a built in epower board. It was way too special for me to give up on it.

I don't blame the buyer after all the decision changes you had to do but I feel he got an excellent deal and you did what you had to do. Also, Jacob just told me the updated BIOS you posted (http://www.overclock.net/t/1411500/official-evga-classified-owners-club/8550_50#post_21689032) apparently works with the Classy tool no problem. Do you mind confirming this please?

Take a heat gun or hair dryer to the card to evenly melt the Vaseline.

The torch is only for heating up the pot. The bold comment had me worried. tongue.gif

This is what I use to make gaskets around the core area. http://www.lowes.com/pd_4868-1410-IT30/8_0__?productId=3427634&Ntt=pipe+insulation&pl=1&currentURL=%3FNtt%3Dpipe%2Binsulation&facetInfo=
