His overclocks on the card are impressive, he used LN2 even more impressive and considering 85% of the people on this forum that "Claim" to overclock never go subzero it even stands out more with what he did. I'll end it there and suggest that if people want to discuss LN2 overclocking on this card or anything else and want to go in depth, they should go to the correct sections and post so it's easier for everyone to track, watch and follow.....

strong island 1 has a long track record of coaxing performance out of anything he touches no matter the format.

I wasn't aware that going sub-zero was a prerequisite for overclocking. Back in the day when we had our P4 2.4Cs at 3+ GHz on air we called that "overclocking."

But I guess if people want to see LN2 extreme overclocking they will just need to come here and weed through all these posts and find bits and pieces of info scattered all over in this thread.

strong's posts were in the right place. They were about the KPE first and XOC second, and they were a response to all of us asking for updates. He should definitely share what he's done over in other threads though, no need to confine his posts to one or the other.

Yeah, it seems as what is considered overclocking by some has been changed to only extreme water or LN2 results. This community has always been great, but there seem to be more and more elitist poping up trying to change what overclocking is all about. Overclocking was originally brought about by users to squeeze extra performance out of their hardware, without having to buy the latest and greatest. Now we have some that are trying to classify it as only something people with certain cooling methods should be classified as overclocking.

Any chance of getting this thread back on track to the KPE and not a discussion on different types of cooling?

True.

I have been lurking around here for a while before i started posting and I have seen people getting called "fake" overclockers because they have AIO coolers on their GPU and or CPU. and indeed elitist behaviour towards people not using stuff that could kill you. rolleyes.gif

I am not going to get in a fight with mods here since I generally like this place but telling people that they shouldn't talk about or discuss LN2 and methods to get LN2 to use on their card BUILD for LN2.

like I said before. How about that ACX on the kingpin since it seems we can only talk about air and water.

plus people really looking for specific information will either check the first post or just ask. even if there was no LN2 talk. people don't look. they ask.

Yep, if anything Strong Islands dedication to the Kingpin even though he had frustration at first helped bring back faith in me about purchasing the next Kingpin edition card and maybe even trying some more extreme means of cooling. This thread is about anything and everything to do with the Kingpin and should contain as much information as possible.

Hell this topic is the reason why I am still interested in finding a buyer for my classified and me buying A cpu and GPU pot and go LN2 benching. rolleyes.gif

I really hope that EVGA makes a kingpin version of every top range model. GTX 880 classified kingpin X 3 hng yes.

Well, since you put it this way, I have to agree..darn you tongue.gif
But, you are right, as this post of yours resonated with me. I was ready to get rid of my Kingpin, until I saw Strong's results, and without him sharing this information here, I most likely would have done it.
I guess we can think of Strong as an ambassador for non XOC members, and a bridge between non XOC and XOC, since he speaks plain English that we can understand, as opposed to the XOC code speak....lol
His efforts and sharing of the results will promote more members to eventually become Ln2/sub zero over-clockers, in my opinion...which is a good thing I am assuming?

However, I believe that all Xtremecuztoms is saying is that Strong should also put his results in the Ln2 section too, and everyone should benefit from discussing his success, not just the residents of Classified/Kingpin Classified thread here who have been following this card from the beginning. From Strong's perspective, he should also want to do it, if he wants to be a pro, as it will give him greater visibility, and he may even get better educated overall as other XOC members comment on his results, etc.
