thanks. I also posted them in the ln2 section but I think they deserve to be posted here also. it's cool to see the kingpin logo frosted. I'm trying really hard to get a cpu pot. Me and ghost dog are meeting up this weekend so we will use his cpu pot and my gpu pot. it should be a lot of fun.

Not sure, but mydog is in the EU, they're on 220-240V or something like that vs. the 110-120 here. I'm no electrician, so I don't even know if that matters.

If I can run this past you guys..................

I've been using two Corsair 1200s for a while now, on Kingpins and 780Ti Classys. One Corsair is the single rail version for the top connectors on the cards and an "ADD2PSU" is used to get the power on correctly when I power up the multi-rail version. I hope I'm not missing something here but are we saying that my max clock of 1528 on the Kingpin is throttling because of excessive power drawn on my two PSUs and not because I'm at the limit of the graphics core? Do I really have to think of a third PSU with another "ADD2PSU"? I do have a DMM on the graphic cards Vcore and it never droops when I'm benching.

maybe a combo of that and geegeeg only having a 4770k at 1.325v compared to the 3960k at 1.53v

I also believe the colder you go, the higher you can clock them and so the more power they will consume. So that could also be a reason given that it is pretty much back to summer here with 85-95 F (30-35 C) ambient temps.

Could be. On a side note, I regret my poorly chosen username more each day tongue.gif

If you're going to bench these things hard, and 1.5Vgpu is pretty hard, you should have a dedicated high quality PSU for each card, minimum of 1200W each, preferably single rail.

Agreed, I wanted to see how my PSU performed and that's when I was surprised it could handle things on water no problem. With the newer cards looking towards efficiency more and more, I think the days of dual GPUs being a requirement for anything other than subzero benching are coming to an end soon though.
