Seven switches on these things?
It seems this would've been the least bit of info in the included "OC Guide" that comes with these cards.
EVGA might've even explained the purpose of these switches and when to use &/or not use them.
How should they be set for either air or watercooling?
Are the EK waterblocks even worth installing since they don't cool all of the components?
From what I've read in this thread it doesn't seem so, with people saying to use watercooled VRAM blocks all around the gpu.
I bought one Classy block when I ordered my 1st KPE.
Now I'm thinking about selling it and just waste the new cards by leaving them air cooled.
I haven't seen anything about using the "non-conductive film" strip that comes with these cards.
Doesn't that strip of material cover the parts that the EK Classy block doesn't cool?
Has anybody come up with a bright idea as to how to use the backplate mounting screws for these cards when using a Corsair 900D case?
The offset screwdriver that came with the case is worthless when you can't even see the holes where the mounting screws are supposed to go.
Much less get to them with the air cooler in place. I have a set of Craftsman offset screwdrivers, but they don't help, either.
I tried using these screws from the back of the case to give this one card I'm using at least a little support.
I don't know if it's working or not, but at least the card hasn't fallen out of the PCI-e slot and crushed my psu. Yet.
How I'm supposed to support both cards when I hook them up in SLi, I just don't know.
This is without a doubt, the most piss poor design I've ever seen by Corsair.
The only viable solution I can see is to cut a slot in the case frame directly in front of the vga backplate mounts so I can fit a screwdriver in there and actually see where the screws go.
Other than that, all I can think of is to use some zip ties. Not much of a safety solution for $1700 worth of video cards.
Damn! It's way too early on a Sunday morning for the headache I have right now.
It used to be that component manufacturers would work together on things like these.

There are 4 switches, 1 for memory protection, 1 for voltage protection, and then 2 for +25mv each... And as far as the corsair 900d case, do not get me started.. LOL.. This is what I thought of my month old corsair 900d case.. Tossed it out to the curb and bought the Caselabs STH10 and never looked back... thumb.gif

If you zoom in and look at the back you can see where I had to cut out the back of the case to get 1 hand around the back when screwing in the cards... What a poor design is right..

So what are you going to do with it.

Just leave it there..??

Caselabs is awesome, but too rich for my blood, same for the 900D too.

Are you serious? That is such a waste of money that it is not even funny.

Anyway I am not getting Code 43 on Win 7 and nothing I do is getting that second KPE recognized. I have tried DDU, installed/uninstalled drivers multiple times, removed and reconnected the PCI-E cables. Both cards have the lights (BIOS and voltage indicator) on so I am not sure what's going on. I haven't touched these cards in 2-3 days since my focus was on the HWBOT Rookie Cup which is pretty much all CPU and memory. Any tips? It would suck to dismantle my loop now and do an RMA tbh.

Yes, I am serious.. I was not very happy that I spent $300 on something that was supposedly aimed at the enthusiast market.. I guess when they were designing it, they did not factor into the design for larger cards such as the classys.. Anyway, I figured no one was going to buy it with me hacking the back of it, so I threw it out.. Plus the magnetic filters were horrible as well, they did not hold at all. Magnets sucked..

You can get both screws on the classified with the 900d case, it's just dam hard and takes some persistence.
