I ended up buying one of these cards earlier today from EVGA, not sure if I'll venture into crazy jungle juice cooling but I'll put it through it's paces with water. Wish I had more EVGA bucks but $30 more then a regular ti classy isn't bad.

I think all those pics sgezed took on the EVGA forum made me buy it. thumb.gif

KingPin also hinted at another upcoming card (880 KPE ?)...may be you can add some EVGA bucks before that's released, if that card is to be smile.gif

If he makes a Volta Kingpin card I'll bite thumb.gif

I'm going to skip Maxwell since I just bought this kingpin lol.

I'm gonna wait for Maxwell refresh, big die or bust.

So for us non hardcore overclockers, what kind of clocks can you hit on the stock cooler? It's pretty beefy, but then again there's quite a bit of juice running through the chip tongue.gif

How about under water?

under water without touching any voltages or power limits at all my card does around 1330 core, on water fully loaded it does just shy of 1500 core with high ambient temps, if i wait till night and turn the AC down as far as i can, itll peak just at 1500. I have a cpu and gpu ln2 pot sitting here just havent had the time to break everything apart and actually do anything with them yet, im hoping for 1700+ with DICE, still trying to get a good deal on ln2 in town here.

That's freakin' awesome, I was expecting somewhere around 1200 under water.

I gotta get my hands on a new case, a beefy WC loop, and a kingpin in the upcoming months thumb.gif

Thanks for the info!

same here. with 2 in sli, on the stock bios (green LED) and the volt switches at default, +75 in precX - >1300+ boost no problem.

From TTL's review of the 290x Lightning:
Quote:
Sometimes in the press documentation you get a slide that causes us to take pause for a moment. We understand that MSI are explaining how their choice of memory allows for higher overclocks, but are they suggesting that they're using both of the memory types? No its more the fact that they have tested them all! Samsung was apparently meant to be the best but they got much better results using Hynix and as you will see later we got better results than stated here!

Interesting how they went for Hynix over Samsung, I am not sure about the memory timings but I think they chose Hynix so that they (And reviewers) could report MOAR MEMORY OVERCLOCKS at the expense of tighter timings on Samsung.

Same here as well, about 1300 ish on stock out of the box on air, when I tested both of my card individually.
Now it's waiting time for me (case soon™ and power supply)

There might be that and also the fact that they aren't advertising it to shine on LN2. Market share and target for MSI is certainly different than EVGA.
