Open up a instance of cpu z and game at the same time watch your cpu clocks if they fluctuate like from idle 1200mhz to your oc then the culprit is found.
I am betting it's your cpu that's downclocking. Also in windows in power options set it to high performance and the min cpu state to 100%. Do you have speed step on as well and the c states?
I tried the cards on a different PC with similar specs. They worked 100%. So it is not the cards.
Figured ill try and start 100% stock again. I reset cmos, cleared ssd, set the +25 power toggles to off on the KPE (since I'm on air at the moment). Clean installed 8.1, used nvidia custom res, only installed latest whqldriver and physx, nothing else. Unplugged other drives that had misc videos, etc.
Tried one card, it worked 100%
, tried SLI also is working 100%. I bet it was me messing with the driver patch. I read somewhere that some games work better with the patch, but maybe the later 700 series doesn't need it. IDK. So far, so good.. Thanks guys for your advise.
Hopefully it sticks but when the problem arose it happened very quick. I tested for a long time and its been solid.. weeeeeweeeeee
