Why would you want to Disable GPU power protection &/or Disable Memory power protection with the KPE's?
Are these limiters or some type of fuses?
It really would be nice if the link to the post about using the original KPE backplate with the EK Classy water block were stickied!
Especially with way more than 10,000 posts to go through!
I think EKWB should take these plates back and modify them for free.
They're the ones that said these backplates were compatible with the KPE's.

Lol, EK said they FIT the KPE, they didn't say you could reach the switches on them! So no, they shouldn't. But you could drill two holes pretty easy!

So for a fairly good OC what would you guys say the Avg + core and mem amounts/volts would be curiosly? (Ballpark of course)

Depends on your temps as well. Try out 1300 MHz at 1.25V as a quick test, measure stability by FS or Valley.

Is as far as I could really push it for Catzilla. First time submitting a score to lol.. Cant seem to push past that mark without really cranking up the volts.. Even went to 1.45 range and still was artifacting a lot and heat was getting abit over the 70C mark, and didn't want to push anymore then that on just water..

Catzilla is not the easiest benchmark to try out first, good score that thumb.gif

I got 31700ish once with a single card when I was testing but did not save a screenshot. Catzilla is so bugged my scores since have been all over the place.

Edit: Wait, did you say 70 C on water??

the kingpin is really great at Catzilla. 70c is really high for water. How many rads do you have, what is your pump set at. even at 1.55v I never exceeded 55c and even that is really hot. here is my high score with the kpe for catzilla, I needed about 1.65v for this run.

I have my old XSPC setup just to the GPU now. RX240 Dual, Dual bay Res, Nickel 780 plate, and MCP655-B nothing monitoring/controlling it.. I did use the Thermal pads from the stock air cooler instead of the EK ones they gave me, as well as some NT-H1 (Which seemed really dry, or maybe just incredibly thick..) I wasn't sure which I should go with, but perhaps I should swap the pads and to PK-3 paste I have.

http://hwbot.org/submission/2514936_rakunvar_unigine_heaven___xtreme_preset_geforce_gtx_780_ti_3943.09_dx11_marks

Of course these were only with a 4770k as well. But yea @ 1.45/1.65 Card @ idle is 52c(starting out) I didnt need 1.45 for those marks but pushed core to that and ran heaven for half a test just now and it hit 75C half way through idle was 55c a like 10mins after as well... Thought it was normal in that volt range but maybe I'm very mistaken lol... I have to lower core to around 1350 and lower volts quite a lot for just standard gameplay/OCing but barely get more then that for the tests due to volts/thermal and artifacting.

Also tried almost all the different Bios as I've had the card for awhile now, but just finally hooked it up to water and using skyn3t-KPE-BD. Cant recall what I had on Air that I sent to Skynet for max OC I could pull/validation.

I'd love to get into LN2 but I'm in a small apt. with a 3yr old, and a VERY rural area(Upper Pen. MI). I really wanted to set this all up with my 4930k I have, but when I did for like 2 days I had a lot of trouble getting much of a OC from the GPU and my scores were no better then this system with the 4770k. Thinking I may just give up on the 4930k and sell it before X99.

what are your ambients like. I feel like I have pushed my watercooled classy's to the absolute limits and have never even come close to 70c. I'm talking maybe 2 cards at 1.55v with a 4930k all cooled with just a 360 rad with low speed fans. Something is definitely not right unless your ambients are crazy high

um im confused ? is you're kingpin on air or water ??? if you're on water something is wrong with you're mount or pump not running...... something you should not be in the 55c @ idle my card has never gone over 50c with 1.5v
