Anyone running 2 in sli with juice? I am running 2 dcii and trying to get a feel of where I should stop.. so far 1.4v 1380/4000. Also running fairly cool considering 1.4. I'm not sure I want to push it more.. I fried a 4790k a couple months back being stupid, but I want to rebench since my new 4790k will bench 5ghz+ and want to compare to the X thats on the way.

Is 1450 1.45v possible and safe?

It depends on your chip. Mine can run 1463 @ 1.33v while the previous one could only do 1371 at the same voltage and temp (actual voltages are > 1.4V via DMM and varies depending on load). The only way to go past those clocks is to make the temp really low (water temp of 10c or lower)

I'd only do 1.4v during benchmarks though.

what type of cooling are you using and what are the highest temps?

45-50c for one run, ek blocks, 240 xt45, 360 ut60

I'm thinking one card is hitting a wall since a lot of other people can hit 1350 with much lower.. probably not worth it.

Hey guys!

Is it really possible that my PSU bottleneks my current rig when overclocking this hard.

My two ref EVGA 780Ti's is hardmodded.
CPU is at 4930K 4.8GHz 1.55v

Currently using 1.45v on bothcards in SLI benching 3dmark. I have passed several 1537mhz -8000mem with one card now i wanna push some SLI scores also.
But my rig is hardcrashing when passing 1430mhz in SLI. I have been monitoring my powerdraw with corsair link. Looks like the PSU shut down when hitting 1260w in - 1160w out.

Everything is watercooled and my temps i very good.

Is it possible to draw this much with two cards! tongue.gif

none of the cores passes 85c so i dont see any problem. And should it burn i am most aware of the reason. IF I was afraid of killing my hardware i would not do this type of overclocking.

Maybe on closed loops passing 1.45v is bad but on custom loops i would not say that it's dangerous to be when having plenty of radiator surface.
So long the temps are good your cpu is fine.

i think with those temps the cards will probadly be ok with 1.45 volt for benching, but other parts of the pcb might get very hot! how do you get as high as 1.45 volt with these asus cards anyway? depends on how long you want to use the cards but for 24/7 i would stay below 1.4 volt!

I'm only only passing 1.2v when overklocking. I have no use for more when gaming. smile.gif

The pcb is monitored by a temp probe at the Vrm's. And i have made sure to get the most out of the water cooling.
Heat-pads at the right spots can make a huge difference in temperature. Especially when making contact with the water block and backplate. thumb.gif

I've soldered on cables so i can use different resistors giving me extra volt to the core. And also voltage read out points directly at the vrm's.
33R "OHM" gives ruffly 1.45v when applying 1.212v in precision X
