Using a simple male to male fitting like that will work, in that it joins the pump top to the reservoir, but once tightened up you have no control over what direction the other ports are facing in relation to the top.

A rotary fitting like this;

or a D-plug;

means you can rotate the reservoir after it is connected so ports end up where you want them. It will increase the overall height though.

Yeah its all good, as long as you get the correct size tubing for those compression fittings ... 3/8 x 1/2, The Primochill tubing they stock is 3/8 X 5/8 which fits the 16/10 Alphacool compressions.

Why the Extra Multi port top? You could just use the EK res upside down sort of with the single 'top' port connected to the pump and the return line connected to one of the other ports that would then be at the top. Not that there is any problem with having multiple ports at the top and the bottom, it will make the res more flexible if you want to change the layout in the future.
