Bring in the Titans

Imagine: It's the future. You're caught in the middle of an epic firefight. In the thick of the action you look upwards. Out of the sky drops an enormous 24-foot-tall weaponized behemoth. And it's waiting for a pilot: you.

This is Titanfall, an intense, competitive multiplayer shooter coming this March. The team responsible honed its skills crafting the Call of Duty franchise, so yes, it's in very good hands.

It is no longer soldier vs. soldier in this first-person shooter. Titans are hugely powered and heavily armored, but teamwork and well-choreographed strategy from the Pilots can bring one down.

Pilot or Titan ... how will you dominate in Titanfall?

Key features:

■ Pilots vs. Titans: Do you take to the warzone on foot or do you leap into the 24-foot tall metallic monstrosity? Pilots can maneuver through the fight with acrobatic grace, but the Titans are absolutely brutal in strength and firepower.

■ Multiplayer-exclusive action: Titanfall is being developed from the ground up as an online multiplayer experience-but with all the characters, story and memorable moments of single player infused.

■ Produced by the Co-creators of Call of Duty: Respawn Entertainment consists of key members of the team that lived and breathed multiplayer first-person shooters for years. Titanfall accumulates that knowledge and experience and builds a brand-new take in a whole new universe.

On the aware list, awaiting some more concrete info regards it but looks like it could be promising.

[/quote]I hope this game can at least challenge other popular FPS like Crysis and Battlefield, I expect the source engine to have less bugs because it's been around longer I guess it with have its cons with graphics but still with high resolutions these days everything looks nice.

I definitely hope this turns out to be a good title, from all the previews it looks like a lotta fun. Read the multiplayer was only 6 v 6 tho, guess it'd be really crazy performance wise with say for eg 64 titans running around. Guess we'll see how it works out

I just spotted this, for those who play with a controller. Here comes the marketing!

True that it could go down that Call of Duty route..

It's not like PC usually gets an inferior version of the game compared to console. Looking at CoD, which is a very similar game to this, PC gets dedicated servers with some of them unlike on console, as well as lots of graphics options plus inherent benefits of PC such as higher resolution and AA. Otherwise the PC version is essentially the same. Similar to BF4; I think the only difference between the console and PC versions are graphics options. I expect Titanfail to be no different. It will be yet another casual console shooter because there aren't enough of those already.

Pc does get an inferior version because it is a port. The last good pc COD was COD4.

Tell me: what exactly is worse about the last few CoD games on the PC version compared to the console version?

Poor optimizations dual 780 classifieds at 1358mhz and a 3930k at 4.9Ghz and cant run max settings. ludicrous amount of hackers. I can't even play the game without a hacker in the lobby.

Anyways, to what this thread is about. I have high hopes for this game considering that it will be based on the x86 platform unlike all previous CODs (even Ghosts wasn't IIRC) I still refuse to pre order after Ghosts and BF4 blunders, though. No more early adopting for me.

The more current info. that I'm trying to find out about this game, the more apprehensive I get about it. The latest vid i've seen was back in august. The games release date is March 11th. The game is currently being play tested. 2 months and no beta announced yet.

Lets start with 2,000 players on wednesday night VS. 178K players on the Playstation Network for Cod Ghosts or Black Ops 2.

Cheaters and hackers, Some are poorly optimized. Black ops 2 ran great, but Ghosts is really bad. Al the optimizations and fixes seem to go for consoles.

Awful optimization only applies to Ghosts, but you're right about that. The PC version of Ghosts is simply terrible. Everything else you said has nothing to do with the games themselves; you're correct in indicating that CoD is simply less popular on PC (not that those numbers actually make a difference) and that it's easier to cheat on PC, but that has nothing to do with the developers giving PC a bad port.

Cheaters will always find a way around, and people tend to exaggerate the issue nowadays. In all my time playing Rising Storm, Red Orchestra 2, and Natural Selection 2, I've never seen a cheater. I've seen maybe one in BF3.

I agree. I've never seen a cheater in any fps besides one in bf4 a few days ago. On Ghosts though, it really is a hacker per lobby at the very least, lol.

Honestly I think the numbers represent the quality of the game and PC players realize this. Go look at COD4, it has 5 times that number of active players. That, and the fact console players tend to buy COD games without question. That said I am really looking forward to TF and I hope that it will be good enough for a competitive play. I wouldn't mind some league and ladder play -- getting tired of CS/CSGO honestly. So to me 5v5/6v6 is perfect.

Don't be so narrow minded. Some genres will just never reach mainstream popularity, even with high quality production. If you stick to "numbers = quality" then you'll be stuck playing the same games forever. BF3, BF4, and even other CoD games are easily lacking in "quality". Day Z is extremely popular, despite being a technical mess as well. That mindset is a big reason as to why the industry is full of rehashes, clones, and stagnation.
