[Official] TITANFALL Information & Discussion Thread - Page 113

Haven't been able to play much, but so far my true only grip, even from the beta, is the aiming. I hate the fact that I can't just hold the button down to zoom. I can't stand having to click to zoom, then click to unzoom. I've died a few times getting confused by that. Anyone know of a way to disable that? Or should that be something we add to "The List" ?

Gear mentioned in this thread:

You can fix that. It's in the settings.

After playing it for a bit...

I hate the fake AI, what purpose do they serve, to make some people think they're actually killing someone real?

I'm not too much on the infantry gameplay but i like the mech fights, they need a mode like Last Titan Standing but in regular Deathmatch and Team deathmatch, Titans only.

I'm hating that too. I'm sitting there killing a ton of enemies, then at the end of the match, I've gotten hardly any points and I've only killed 2 pilots, but 22 grunts. I'm like ***?! So far my favorite play mode is Attrition.

Digging Attrition and Hardpoint the most so far myself. Lots of fun.

Did run into my first crap bag today. Person goes 2-7 for 14 points, then starts on half my team about how bad they are (they all did at least twice as well as this person did). Drops a few derogatory terms, we call him out, I get reported. Whut?

I suggest you go play Hawken or Mech Warrior Online. Titanfall only has objective-based gametypes. You're playing it wrong if you're only running around looking for players to kill. MWO and Hawken have Deathmatch modes for you.

In Attrition mode, you get far more points killing grunts and spectres than you can from killing other players. If you're running around the map ignoring AI and going after only other pilots, you are playing the game wrong.

I don't see why "I can't find any real players to fight!" is such a common complaint. You're playing objective based games. In attrition you should be killing AI for points, in hardpoint you should be attacking or defending points. In CTF you should be trying to capture or defend a flag. I suppose Last Titan Standing is the exception, so go there if you want to focus on player versus player combat.

Stop paying attention to how many pilot kills you have, it really doesn't matter at all in the majority of the gametypes. Focus on the objective of the game type you are playing. Your teammates will thank you for actually helping them win the game instead of mindlessly running around looking for kills.

I was very sceptical about the game at first (EA = disaster + shooter = double trouble), but after a few server problems I got to play and it's some bloody good fun, to be honest. Nothing new really, but still a fresh breeze to this game genre. Beats Battlefield 4 and Ghosts hands down IMHO, nothing to boast on though, they were full of ****. I get in touch with the movement and the weapons just the way I should with Titanfall and I do like that almost Quake/Unreal paced gameplay. When I want some slower paced multiplayer stuff, I'll just go back to World of Tanks or War Thunder.

Agreed though i do like my K/D to stay a healthy 2.0+ like my usual FPS games. That said i lost probably six straight CTFs tonight, and i was getting pissed lol. Was doing everything in my power to win and just couldn't do it alone. I should've checked to see if you were on. I had one team specifically that was complaining so much (dogging everyone on the team) when noone capped but me..and i never said a word. Most of the reason we were losing is the other team had effective defense so the rest would go out and cap.

Does anyone find the shotgun a little too ridiculous? I mean yeah i'll take a one hit chest kill at close range that's understandable but that thing has some serious range for a shotgun. I've also had various accounts of minor hit reg problems. Like i open fire on a guy with half a mag and somehow on his screen during the killcam it looks like i'm shooting way late. This is with 54ms ping. Also they need to address hip fire accuracy i think it's a little ridiculous though that's just me personally.

Have had a couple of epic moments. Got a double kill today on that level with the high wall runs? where you can go out of bounds if you go above them. Anyway nothing too amazing but i was just trying out the smart pistol for the first time and ran towards one guy on the opposing wall, took him out. Then flipped on the other wall and took another. It was just cool.

My favorite moment i've had so far though was in CTF one of my teammates was carrying the enemy flag on foot and there were two enemy Titans behind us, just as we hit the street on airbase i called my Titan, slid under his legs got in and proceeded to defend while he capped. Quite successfully i might add, it was just a good moment.

So far i'm level 39 origin says i have 12 hours into it. I kind of wish there was a fluctuating ranking system much like Halo i miss those days. Now ranking up is just a matter of time put into the game.

Seems Vsync was my major performance hit currently running it maxed with no problems but capped to 60fps.
