I really don't care about the place I come in, as the game is fun enough to not have to worry about ranking. I just wanted a little better understanding of how to score points in the game.
My experience is the opposite. I usually run around with the smart pistol and target AI specifically in Attrition, and also usually end up with the top score on my team, with around 80 AI kills or so, above people with many more pilot kills than myself. I'm not saying pilots should be ignored, I usually have quite a few pilot kills as well, but those points you get from the AI kills are vital to winning the match, just as much or moreso than pilot or titan kills.

If someone is killing more pilots then you its no surprise thet are finishing higher on the scoreboard.
If they kill 10 Pilots you would have to kill 40 grunts just to tie...
The scoring makes sense.. pilots are harder to kill therefore woth more points. Same as titans.
40 grunts isn't that many when they come down from drop pods in sets of 5 throughout the match.
