Fan filter, removable filter

Thread Starter
Hello,

I'm looking for a fan filter, that has a removable filter when mounted. Kind of like the one from Lian-Li.
The Lian-Li's filter is a bit fat and bulky, so I'm looking for a slimmer one with preferably mesh instead of foam.
Its going to be used in one of these ways:
Fan Grill -> Fan Filter -> Fan -> Radiator
Fan Grill -> Fan -> Fan Filter -> Radiator

The 1st. one is the best one, but it depends on the looks.

Would Silverstone or DEMCiflex magnetic mounting filters work? Might need to glue metal pieces for magnetic mount to grab onto. biggrin.gif

I dont want to remove the radiator/fans each time I clean the filter. So I dont think they would work without modding etc...
All the fans are intake from the top of the case.

Are your intake fans on top of the case or are they in the case?

what part of "magnetic" don't you understand.. "Mag", "Net" or "ic"? biggrin.gif

You said
Fan Grill -> Fan Filter -> Fan -> Radiator

I say
Magnetic grill / filter -> Fan -> Radiator.

Just pull the magnetic grill-filter off, clean, put back on. thumb.gif

The magnets are in the 3-shiny dots in circles on each side of corner mounting hole. A small piece of ferrous metal positions so one of these circles touches it when you put filter on fan and magnet holds filter on. Hot-glue or whatever to put the metal bits on fan. biggrin.gif

This is a work in progress, but here is a sketch:

If you look at the picture, you see why I cannot use that idea.

I want to use the grill as the filters look(sorry ->) rubbish.

To be more specific about the order:
Fan Grill -> Case -> Fans -> Radiator
Now insert a fan filter before or after "Fans" that has a removable filter. Without having to remove my fans/radiator. I dont want anything on top of my grill.

Unless you have a space between grill and fan to slide something in I see no way. frown.gif

DEMCiflex do make filters for radiators, but using it would mean it becomes the grill as well as filter

Lose that grill and replace it with a magnetic filter. This is what it looks like installed and please forgive the dirt. It gets dirty fast.

I could loose the grill but Im not sure if the metal of the Core1000 can hold a 360 radiator without bulging like crazy, this is the main reason for the grill.
And there are no "good looking" fan grill/filters out there IMO.
