[TPU] ASUS Rolls Out G-Sync Upgrade Kit for VG248QE - Page 10

Yeah, i read on here someone who owned it said you lose all on screen menu's that came with the monitor once you install g-sync as well. It really does seem far from the perfect solution a lot of these review sites would have you believe.

fyi you guys, any monitor you open WILL have tape inside it. i have yet to encounter a monitor, laptop or desktop that doesnt have tape holding down the LCD cables etc.

so yeah. you all can stop with that now.

so basically what youre saying is freesync isnt as good as gsync, and it all depends on some pretty large IFs.

now, i can say without any IFs that Gsync works. and there is no speculation about how good it works, other than from people who either dont want it, or have AMD cards and cant use it.

im leaving work now, and ill have this installed with pics for everyone here, haters or not.

and again. ALL MONITORS HAVE TAPE INSIDE THEM

Would rather get another GPU or a 4th monitor...

$200 is roughly what I spend on gas over a ~7 week period ( ~$30 to fill up from 1/2 at the end of the week)

heh, what do you know, another canned response, same as on every forum.

sorry dude, but if it was AMD's Gsync i would be saying the same stuff. unfortunately its not.

im simply trying to understand why people on a forum where completely overkill over the top quad titan builds are showcased are complaining about a piece of hardware that solves huge problems and only makes gaming better being a measly $200.

it blows my mind. i thought people around here were enthusiasts, people who are into the newest tech, people who are all for advancements in technology, especially ones that benefit gamers as much as gsync.

i feel like majority of people dont understand cause they havent seen it, and they dont know what they are missing. or they have AMD cards and are angry about it.

btw im happy to be your guinea pig.

I do have AMD card and I hate to disappoint you, but I'm definitely not angry about it. I don't have the ASUS VG248QE 24" monitor, by your logic's it should make me double angry.

I think one off the reason people bought that monitor was a budget for what they want to spend on a monitor. I don't think most people spending $300 or less on a monitor are ready to sink another $200 into it.

Strange you complain about this turning into Nvidia vs AMD, I don't see it much in this thread, but you're doing exactly that.

We all know what V-Sync looks like and how it feels without it. Frankly V-Sync even if lagg does not effect you is nothing special. I most games I can't tell the difference unless I am looking for tearing.

? I could care less about non conductive tape holding cables down, that is fine. I was referring to tape holding the circuit board assembly onto the inner surface of the monitor itself....

I will. If I break my monitor. U will know. If I'm not pleased u will know. I know I guys are looking at me like the ultimate fanboy but I'm not. I've said it before that if amd had gsync, shadow play etc, I'd be using them. But nvidias doing more stuff that I'm interested in, hence my decision to stick with them. I was actually pretty dead set on amd for my next card since I play bf4 and mantle sounds pretty cool, but ultimately, the problems gsync solves are more important to me than what mantle brings. Believe me if you want, or don't. I apologize if I angered any of you guys. Here is a picture of my cats as a peace offering.

Is this a joke? How many people are going to want to spend $200 + the cost of the monitor and go through all those steps to get a measly upgrade that helps with tearing. Sure it may not seem difficult for OCN users who are tech savvy, but what about timmy the COD player? I'd wait 2 months for the price to drop to $120 as the upgrade kit sits on shelves.
