The intellimouse 3.0 Is breaking

Thread Starter
My 3rd intellimouse is starting to lose it's clickiness with mouse 1. It's kind of mushy.

I tried the DA2013 for 2 weeks - didn't like it.

This current intellimouse is an eBay copy. I can either buy another eBay copy for $55 shipped or get the Rival from Fry's for $60

I've read about the SS rival, but it's $60....is it really A LOT like the 3.0? Or just kind of.

Suggestions?

Rival is not ALOT like IE 3.0.
Shape is quite different.

Should be legit IE3.0 on ebay somewhere.
You can still buy them in sweden for example.

Zowie EVO EC1 is the closest you'll get to the IME3.0 shape-wise.

I switched between my Rival and 3.0 and barely noticed a difference in shape, it is slightly different but transitioning from your 3.0 to the Rival would not be a hard task at all, its still a similar shape, that's what I experienced anyway.

I'd go with the Rival, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I had an intellimouse 3.0 for a long time and I replaced it when I saw a gaming mouse that had the same shape when I was in Shanghai. Its much heavier than the intellimouse and the exterior coating has a gritty/waxy texture when I sweat (I sandpapered it off), but its a perfect replacement for the intellimouse; at least for me because of the shape.

Steelserie Rival is crooked so holding it from default position and aiming with wrist will yield an 5 degree slant, unlike IME 3.0 where the shape is actually good for the sensor orientation.

I suggest:

1. Get another IME 3.0
2. Get the EC1 EVO CL

You make everything sound worse than it actually is, let me hit you with some cold hard facts

A. I came from a IME 3.0
B. I got a Rival
C. The shape felt good and not much different at all
D. My aim was already good with it immediately

How different do you think the shape actually is? I barely noticed a difference, that's why my aim was good with immediately, yes it isn't exactly the same shape but it's fairly similar which makes transitioning very easy.

The shape is not the same, that's for sure.
And according to your D I get the same aim if I swap between mice like zowie EC, deathadder, Explorer 3.0, Rival. Because they share the same "bent" right hand ergonomic.
But are they the same shape? No they are not.

I prefer the IE 3.0 shape by FAR, the rival shape was to me quite garbage, It sit in the bookshelf with the rest of the mice now biggrin.gif
