the AI is a joke honestly. im almost finished with the game and have only been really spotted once. The AI does not get any smarter as you go

I give up and am really frustrated

I have once again completely deinstaliert the 14.2 and newly instaled but I get the crossfire not to run in thief.

This is not ok, so much marketing and promise the AMD technology (crossfire and ejefinity) already with release work.
AMD Mantle is not as promised here.
So the promise is a lie.

I really wanted my HTPC on Kaveri update but I will move first.
And buy maybe an Intel.

regards

What makes the new one better? All they did was take away good things, scale it down, and not add anything back except graphics. It's good for casuals, sure. Good for more hardcore, more demanding gamers? Good for people who want a more diverse challenge that involves thinking, for those who want more complex gameplay, for those who want more tools and more ways to complete objectives, for those who want freedom within the game world, and for those who want a longer lasting game? The new one is a disappointment for these people, it's not even up for debate that Thief does less for such people and caters more to modern day casuals, just like 99% of the games/sequels today. Anyone who thinks otherwise is truly blind and delusional, and is not accepting Thief for the lesser game that it is (contrary to what they claim).

So you launched Thief Gold and couldn't deal with the graphics, so it's a worse game lol. Thief Gold was made for PC gamers who have high standards and want a challenge, the new Thief is designed for teenage console gamers. Every redesigned/removed gameplay aspect and the miniaturized scale make this blatantly obvious.

This is something I hate about modern games. Back in the day game developers did not try to makes games that appealed to everyone. They selected a target audience and then sold the game for that audience. They made the target as big as they could without killing off the vision of the game. games today try to make everyone happy and in the end lack so much compared to older titles. Games to no need to sell to every type of gamer to be successful, look at EVE.

Devs today are afraid of innovation. What we get instead are scaled down versions of classic games that bear the popular name, but are a disgrace to the originals.

is your Thief updated to build 4110.1 ?
and if yes, the benchmark w/ single GPU gets the same results as crossfire?

With innovation comes risk, and unfortunately AAA games are too expensive for most publishers to be willing to take a risk. That's the reason why most of the risky projects are either crowd funded or indie titles.

With that being said, I am enjoying Thief, yes its a bit more linear than Thief 1/2, but it also "feels" like a Thief game which is all I really wanted in the end. Sneaking around is fun and satisfies the Thief itch for me, an itch that I have had for a looong time smile.gif Its definitely not perfect; the broken up levels are likely caused by limitations of last gen consoles, and some of the main story missions seem a bit outside of the Thief universe.

Turning off the waypoint marker makes a big difference, but unfortunately it makes figuring out where you need to go tremendously more difficult because the map is not that helpful, but really these are all minor gripes in the grand scheme of things.

I am currently at the Asylum level, but if I had to rate it I would grade an 8/10.

Nonsense , I've been playing video games for 35 years , the Thief games were good at the time but they have aged badly (like most old games)

You seem upset , nobody wants to spend 100's of hours creeping behind a guard anymore , the gaming world has moved on from the late 90s. I am glad about that and you should be too

We obviously don't like the direction the industry has gone, but we should be glad?
