Got a really bad clocker though. Can only make it past 4.4Ghz stable with 1.3V Vcore. All the liquid cooling power is like totally wasted And for some weird reason when I run AIDA 64 FPU test and use anything above 1.3V Vcore, my CPU starts to throttle as it hits 90 degree. I dunno if I am putting the thermal paste wrong or something.

I am also using 4770k and have at 4.7 stable and working on 4.8, but I never had a problem with it throttling at high temps, that being said I never let it go into the 90. Maybe one of your settings in biso's. I know that there are some setting in there that need to be changed from auto so that the cpu does not overcompensate on oc'.

Also I did some looking and the rog boards and are you using offsets or adaptive mode while trying to get higher clocks on that chip?

Dear Munajj

A ver good build ..
I have a similar build and same setup ..
Just dun have the Liquid coolong and not looking forward for Overclocking

I have problem with the GTX780.. It crashes and there should be some problem with compatibility.
Have you experience any such problem with your build .. currently trying to get sumo support form manufacturer to see if the card is faulty!

With that cooling at 1.3V you in theory should not be hitting 90C forgive me for the stupid question but did you pull the plastic cover off of the block before installation.

Very nice build thumb.gif

Thread Starter
Hello, haha Samad I think phynce was referring to my CPU waterblock which I did remove. I do not know what is up. The computer is working well now though, I will re apply the thermal paste again next month to see what happens. Currently it is stable at 4.4ghz.

And Samad, unfortunately I did not come across any issues like that. I suggest you contact asus.

This is a reasonably old thread I know, but I have a question for the OP, my MSI Z87 G45 just went pop, I am looking at the Maximus Formula VI as a replacement. I want to use my AlphaCool UT60 360mm up top in pull config, but the UT60 is 60mm deep and I couldn't fit it plus fans over the moffset cooler on the G45.

The board looks very nice, but being able to use my UT60 would be a bug plus for me, I can then retire my AlphaCool XT45 360mm.

My question is, can you fit push-pull fans on your XSPC 360mm? Is there enough clearance from the waterblock?
