PC Audio Setup

Hello dear Overclocker Community!

During the weekend i ordered the Beyerdynamic 990 Pro 250 Ohm Headphones, which will be used at my PC as well as on the go.
At my PC i'd like to have a pretty clean Setup, besides using Headphones, im using a Zalman zm-mic for Skype conversations and Teamspeak.
Both are currently connected to my Onboard Audio Chip (Realtek) which sits integrated in a Asus Sabertooth P67.
I do have a Creative X-FI Titanium PCI-E SoundBlaster sitting somewhere here but im not using it since i had a lot of issues with the Drivers and my Microphone had a lot of static noise while using with the X-FI Card.

I started digging into Headphones and Audio Setups and came across the amplifier topic.
Since im pretty new to all this, here are my Questions:

  • Does my Realtek Chip or my X-FI Card have a amplifier? Do i even need one?
  • Is the Creative X-FI Titanium Card significantly better than the onBoard Audio Chip?
  • Is it recommended to buy a new SoundBlaster?
  • Is there a general rule / way to install new SoundBlasters? Maybe the issue wasn't the Creative Driver?

In general i'd like to hear your opinions on how to setup my stuff, which SoundBlaster to use or if i should even buy a new one.
Here are again my components, order nice and clean:

  • Creative X-FI Titanium PCI-E OR Realtek onBoard Audio Chip (Mainboard: Asus Sabertooth P67)
  • Beyerdynamic 990 Pro 250 Ohm Headphones
  • Zalman zm-mic

Thanks alot and have a nice day!

PS.: I'm sorry for my bad english

Here is a fast and easy way to find out which is better:
Test both the onboard and soundcard with your favourite (FLAC) song.

The Titanium should be better than the onboard, but sounds like it's defective and the drivers are a mess on your PC.

And yes, amplifier would be a very good thing to own for the headphones. None of those have one.

Thanks a lot! Do you recommend any specific amplifiers? Is the Fiio E10 decent enough?
Guess there is no need to upgrade my SoundBlaster then?

I would recommend the Aune T1 from Massdrop if it's possible/the budget is big enough.
