Load temps too high for overclock? (56k warning) - Page 2

So I've lowered my vcore and my temps dropped much lower - thanks guys.

So does this mean I can go push the FSB up and get some more performance and still stay under 55C? Or should I keep it where it is.

Well I raised the FSB to 430 and my temps are good and the processor seems to be stable, but the RAM isn't. I can't even get 1 minute into Orthos without it failing. Am I safe to raise the RAM voltages from 1.9v to 2.0v? I don't like messing with RAM because I can't monitor temps and I don't have any way to cool them.

So will 2.0v hurt my sticks?

Heh. I have G.Skill DDR2 800 sticks. I just checked the page and they're rated for 2.1v. D'oh. For some reason I thought they were rated for 1.9v.

Well nevermind that then.

OK, new problem. I took the FSB up to 461. CPU is stable so far (haven't really stressed it yet) at 3.2Ghz. The problem is, my memory isn't. I have the memory at max voltages (2.1v) in the BIOS.

Orthos runs small FFT for a half hour with no errors and good temps, large FFT fails in 5 seconds to 5 minutes, and blend fails in 3 seconds to 3 minutes.

memtest-86 gets a ton of errors. Here are my memtest-86 results:

Test 0- 0
Test 1- 0
Test 2- 1
Test 3- 10
Test 4- 10
Test 5- 15
Test 6- 10
Test 7- 0
Test 8- 2
Test 9- 0

Is the only solution to decrease the overclock, or can I get stable somehow?

I took the FSB down to 431 bringing the CPU to 3.09GHz.

The CPU is 20 hours Orthos stable (small FFT). It didn't even last 5 minutes on blend though. Still max voltages on the RAM. The RAM is definitely my problem here. My temps are really good too. Is there any way to get stable besides reducing the overclock?

I just ran it for 6 hours on FFT. MemTest (the Windows version) fails within a minute every time. Can this RAM take it? At 2.1v it still won't run stable.
