I need to start using some sort of unix/linux in order to be able to understand how to use the unix/linux pc's at work... however im pretty scared of attempting ANYTHING. for some reason as someone who feels very tech savvy, i sat down at a HP Unix machine and for the first time in my life, I had no idea what i was doing (to some extent)
I like the idea of VMWare (I assume that is what you are using on your machine?) but I have no idea where to start and since that specific moment, Im a bit reluctant to try.
do you have any advice on where to start? Also I remember when VM machines would be SUPER SLOW compared to just running the main OS, is this still the case? I have a new PC with a SSD drive and 8g of ram yet i still dont know how it would perform.
