For all those whose cable melted can you pls check if it was made by UNICAB or YUAN TAI and if it has gold or silver pins ?

Thanks.

Well, I only have a 550W Bronze Sea sonic PSU and never had a problem with it (Pentium 4 + GTX 280).

However a friend of mine has a 750W Gold Sea sonic, and it just stopped working (will not start) after he took his rig (containing my i5 and GTX 760) to another room.

I was surprised to hear that and thought it's user error, but I check the PSU myself and it's definately dead although no visible damage.

I gave him my 550W Bronze, so far so good.

I'm a bit worried now .. biggrin.gif

I have 7 x Cooler Master V1000's and 2 x Cooler Master V1200's running in my mod projects, mainpc and miners.
These are all Seasonic inside and have these connectors.
Should I be worried?

I have not heard anything about any V models with problems so untill you hear something no just relax

Even on the XFX and Seasonic models it was rare

Probably a glitch on some batches at the factory which can happen to anyone and has before

Well ... there's this guy on facebook .. and well he had a problem with a V850.
However he did plug his GPU pci-e connector in the PSU socket.
(Don't ask me how or why lol, he did run on it for 2 months)

I was reading it and he posted the link to this thread.

I will use as much as possible cables on the GPU's to separate the load as much as possible.
Thanks guys!

Melted EPS connector on V850. Guy used PCIE connector into EPS, ran a mining machine for 3 months. (2 x HD7970 lightning)

The fact he used EPS connector for a PCI does not matter as first 6pins on EPS are identical to a 6pin PCIE, the last two pins are different.

I'm sure that this has happened due connector issue found on a numerous KM3 based Seasonic units.

Its really a shame that one minor problem like that could cause such a big problem and that some might turn away from a KM3 because of it

I did think about a V myself but am set on a G2 750 watts because of the colored EVGA sleeved cables you can buy on the side for it

CHEERS..

That guy is me, and yes indeed I did connect my PCI to EPS but before doing so 2 months ago I made sure it was properly put in and I read the pinout, and the pins matched entirely. To be honest, I'm a bit scared of RMAing it because what if they say the problem was this, when I know in fact it couldn't of been. I didn't have RMA experience with Cooler Master and don't know if they're fair or not.

If I was sure it was my fault, I wouldn't even bother emailing cooler master and seasonic.
