Coil whine on PCP MKIII 850W PSU

Thread Starter
So I just found out my PCP MKIII 850W PSU has coil whine even at idle. It's not loud and I can only hear it if I put my head next to it, but it's quite ironic since it has 'Silencer' in its name..

Now, I bought it since it was a highly recommended PSU and was on sale on cyber monday so I never imagined a high quality PSU would have this issue. Yes, I can let it slide since I can only hear it if I put my head next to it, but I'm disappointed is all.

Does anyone else have experience with this brand/psu? I read on another forum that coil whine is common in high quality units like Seasonic which surprised me. Would love to hear from others on this.

PSU names are just marketing tricks. However, their name may be referring to the fan that they are using.

High-end or not, any PSU can have coil whine.

I don't remember if this is common for the 850W Silencer MK III, but even if it's not, I feel that it's just a luck of the draw.
