I'm not in the US so I cant get the one which i quoted from amazon sadly.

What you need specifically is two ~10 cm "U.FL Mini PCI to RP-SMA" cables. Pretty much any standard WiFi antennas should work with them. You'll have to Google to find them for sale in your country.

The cables attach to the backplate that comes with the motherboard, so the WiFi card and cables are inside the case and the antennas are outside the case.

IPX to RP-SMA. The IPX end connects to the WiFi card. The RP-SMA side connects to the I/O shield. You'll then need to connect RP-SMA antennas to the end in order to pick up a signal. Most WiFi antennas will fit. I took mine from an old router.

What country are you in? I ordered the antenna cables from digikey and got it the next day.

Okay thanks so something like this?

How would I go about attaching this to the module, and by attaching to the backplate that comes with the motherboard do you mean the I/O shield?

Yeah, that's what you need. The little end snaps onto the WiFi card, the threaded end has a nut on it that you use to secure to the I/O shield.

Ok thanks you guys, so there's a space on the I/O shield for the antenna or something? Also is an antenna like this required to go onto the cable?

The module I was looking at has WiFi and Bluetooth, does the specific antenna matter or will WiFi antennas work for bluetooths too?

Any RP-SMA antenna will work. I'd suggest something small and right-angled.

Check the pics from earlier in this thread: http://www.overclock.net/t/1461111/official-asus-maximus-vi-gene-owners-club/30#post_21687494

By the way, Amazon UK and DigiKey UK both have the antenna cables if you haven't found a source yet.

Thanks, wow I had no idea that this was the VI Gene I thought it was going to be bigger than that tongue.gif
hopefully I dont have much trouble squeezing it into a smaller case like the Silverstone Sugo SG09B or Silverstone Sugo SG10B in the future.

I think Amazon will do I've found a cable, thanks for your help guys.
Is their adequate maneuverable space when the module is installed, as in the length between it and the CPU cooler?

And is this board overkill as some believe it is? I'm looking for a Haswell CPU and Mobo and as soon as I found the MPCI-E on this it perfectly fitted my needs, are there any other MATX boards with MPCI-E that are less "overkill" with SLI support, or is this one of the best ones you can get?

That pic is not the Maximus VI Gene. The rear ports are different.
