XFX 7600gt wont overclock

no mater what I try, nTune, Coolbits, i crash when i try to set the GPU fequencies to anything higher, even if its only 5mhz... it doesn't make sense to me, because everything else over clocked fine, my RAM, my CPU, and the motherboard stuff, but my video card wont budge. other than the fact that it wont OC, it works fine btw.. anyone know whats going on?

Hey Sega,
I have the same problem......Ntune, Riva Tuner, and Coolbits all get the same results........CRASH!!!!!!!!

I'm wondering if your using the XXX version?? Thats the one I have.
I've seen other people sucessfully OC their XFX7600GT but I dont think their using the XXX. I'm sure this card can be OC'd, but I also know that its OC'd from the factory,,,,,Maybe they're at their max?????

I don't know, but if I find ANYTHING out, you'll be the next to know.

XXX is Factory overclocked..
They push it as far as they can safely.
So why bother overclocking it again?
I know you can get higher..
And a thrill out of it.. But why bother? :S

Have you tried using ATITools? I can't really overclock my XFX 7600GT XXX much without using ATITools (newer versions that support Nvidia).

Maybe your card is getting extremely hot , perhaps not proper case cooling and video HSF sux ,,,,,,

do driver cleaner in safe mode

install official nvidia drivers,, use which ever OC app u want, and do one thing @ a time,, GPU first ,, one mhz @ a time if you have to, If it goes to 5mhz and crashes or freezes more likely,, then sorry daz all you can get,, try modded cooling or better airflow in your rig,,

well, i can assure you that it isn't a cooling problem, I have a Lian-Li case, with vantec tornado fans, but I do not know if it is a XXX series, but it is factory clocked at 590 mhz for gpu core, and memory at 800mhz, i was hoping to atleast bump the core up to 600, maybe 620, cause i know heat isn't a problem for me. but o well, I can definitely live with 590 mhz for now, and look into OC'ing it further down the road when its getting older. anyways thanks for the help, and i'm gonna try the ATI tools
