I am using a Antec VCool Expansion Slot VGA Cooler which blows cool air in on the card and the cool thing is it has an extension that moves the fan back to the stock 8800 fan. I only saw a 2c drop but then I used Arctic Silver 5 and it dropped another 2c or 3c (I DID NOT put it on the small chips on the card!!!). I am using RivaTuner to run the fan @ 100% it seems to make the biggest difference. it drops another 3c or 4c when I do that.
Do you mean the memory chips? Was there any Goo on them?
You should probably put at least some thermal tape on them.
EDIT-> Those temps you have are well within safe specs.
Are you sure the slot blower is intaking air? I ask cos they make both.
