I have never once made the same mistake since then so at least something good came out of it.

Oh, i still trust your opinion far more than anyone else in this forum, i have never seen someone study PSU's so hard biggrin.gif Also if you never made a mistake before then you wouldnt be human. Plus you corrected it by advising me to get the cooler master v1000 which is still going strong! Ironically though Im only using about 1/5th of the power because ATM i have a single 970 and an i7 3820 in it XD

Fact: whenever I recommend against the Hale82s or CXM or CSM or 500B/600B, I get a metric ton worth of excrement thrown my way. For the Hale82s, presumably because it's the only white PSU still available on the market since PC Power and Cooling disappeared, but that doesn't change the fact that it's lousy Sirtec garbage. CXM is pretty broken as we all know, "but...b-b-b-b-but...it's Corsair! It can't be bad!". CSM is not much better cause of the caps. The B PSUs are just as bad as CXM. Jesus then NEX750G. I could go on.

And then there's RM. Seriously. Here I get 2 metric tons of assorted feces thrown my way, and things like "dude, it's got a five year warranty for a reason" or "you don't know what you're talking about, that SSR-550RM has nothing on this RM550" or "dude caps don't matter". I don't know, maybe the warranty department at Corsair decided to hit up a few lines of coke each that day? I really hope they're getting so many RMAs that they're already regretting the 5 year warranty.

TL:DR More or less, I've stopped trying to help people who have made bad choices about PSUs or refuse to do anything except by based on Corsair's perceived reputation. Let their PSUs explode and let their $2k builds rot. Let them cry. Serves them right for not listening and paying a little more $ for a lot more peace of mind when it really counted.

You don't know how helpful to this forum you are and will continue to be.

You've no idea how much crap shilka gets sometimes for his contributions, even as far as being called a disgrace of ocn from vendors.

In the end, you can't help those that don't wish to be helped.

If they did not sell mediocre stuff in the first place there would not to complain about, and i assuming you are talking about that nuclear meltdown Corsair George had last year.
If those vendors start calling me names and stuff and i get tired of it i will simply ignore that brand they dont exist anymore for all i care.

Also think its funny they complain when its negative but dont say a peep when its positive, i bet a few brands has a ton of sales of certain models because of one or more of my threads which is pretty much free advertising for them.
I might have been a bit harsh one a few brands in the past but i do try and keep an unbiased and open mind as wll as a fair opinion of a product, if its good its good if its bad its bad and thats as far as it goes.

Well I wasn't one to name names but yeah lol.

They are the last ones on the face of this planet for accepting criticism. However sometimes they downright attack their customers for being fraudulent in their claims and such.

In the end this forum is open and as much as they may think otherwise they are guests here to our community. Not the other way around.

I posted on a danish forum just for a change and if you think Tom´s hardware is bad oh boy this one was way worse.
Ended up leaving after have received threats from multiple users (all of them Corsair fanboys) even had to change my phone number and email.

I am so glad OCN has such a high and good standard with mods that actually care, anyone trying such a stunt here would be banned so fast.

If you want an excellent, well above average WHITE PSU, the HALE90 (V1, don't know about the V2 from personal experience) 850W+ units are the way to go. A bit of an older design but my 850W has repeatedly endured benching runs that it has no right to be powering (such as 3930K @5.2 + 4x4GB GSkill @ 2600 9-10-9 1.725v + 2x 7780Ti Classy Kingpins @ 1500/8400 1.38v-ish), and not only did my lovely HALE90 850W exceed the rated max output by a huge amount(aassuming 85pct efficiency, it was pushingaabout1090W ccontinuous), AND do so without even hitting the halfway point towards the Max Ripple/etc ATX specs (benching so I had calibrated Fluke DMM's connected to everything)...
...but I also had a friend bring an oscilloscope over, as the use of the HALE90 850W, while precluding the use of all 3 Kingpins (obviously even 2 was hugely optimistic), was because we had 5 (FIVE!) Corsair AX1200i units, from a 9mo range of production dates and only one having been pushed hard previous to this, straight up die spectacularly, three of them from the same setup that the meager 850W unit handled like a beast... Three had multiple capacitors explode (a louder noise than most of my suppressed firearms!) and one even caught fire! I can say with absolute certainty the power from the wall is better than "good", because the (dedicated 20A) run used is normally one of the lines used exclusively for my studio equipment, was installed when the studio was built, doesn't even share a breaker box w the "normal house stuff", has *real* power conditioning and voltage regulation at both ends of the wire that maintains the 60/115 with a margin of just +/-2.5v (and +/- 0.5hz) using a bunch of solar powered batteries to supplement in the event of drops... And the line showed up as being literally perfect in performance even when AX1200i #4 and #5 committed Seppuku, and the two different specialist electricians I paid to come do a FULL inspection (over 4hrs) of the building both gave it a perfect score ("I regularly see multi-million dollar electrical systems in data centers and such, and whoever put your power together is on the top of their game because it blows them out of thewater" - qquote).

So yeah, I don't care for Corsair, and that's only the most recent reason...

NZXT does have some very excellent units, but the new 82 V2 isn't one of them apparently...
