Brothers New Rig

Thread Starter
Hey guys it is time for my brother to get a new rig, his old one is sitting around 6-8 years old and needs to be updated. I have done a quick mock up on a build.

Budget 1000-1200

Main Purpose: Gaming/multimedia rig

Already have: Monitor, Keyboard, Mouse, extra internal HDD, TIM.

There are a few parts I would like your opinion or maybe a few budget cuts.

MOBO: My buddy bought the MSI motherboard recently and it seemed like it turned out good. I am not sure if my brother wants to overclock or not but thoughts on the mobo?

RAM: Do you think that the DDR3 2133 is a good choice, i currently have the same ram in my sandy bridge rig.

PSU: Is there a better option? (i know corsair is a good brand but is there more bang for your buck.)

For a case we have not decided yet but that will be mostly for looks.

Looks like a solid build to me!

I just hope you have some other places for storage besides that 128GB SSD. I feel like most people use a lot more than that nowadays. Also, you've got Windows 7 on the parts list. It might be worth getting 8 because of the faster boot times and gaming performance. But everyone seems to have their own opinions about 8, so I won't force it on you happysmiley.gif
