freezing up when i alt tab still/again ran virus scan and a chead spyware here is hijackthis reading.

I think you posted this in the wrong section...

Have you tried inserting your OS CD and going "Start" > "Run..." > and then typing "sfc /scannow" without quotation marks and then hitting enter?

If there are any Windows files corrupt, that process should fix them.
