Windows anytime upgrade help

Hi Guys,

Been a long time since I've been on here but anyhow I'm now looking for a bit of help and to get back into the community.

I have a laptop of a friend who is trying to upgrade from home premium to professional.

I have home premium installed and activated (original copy from bottom of laptop). I also have a new upgrade key for windows 7 professional that he has bought. I could not determine if it's 32/64 bit but from what I have read that doesn't matter?

Anyhow when trying to install it I get: Capture.PNG 22k .PNG file

MAJOR point I missed in the creation of this originally... It was on windows 7 professional before but since licence he bought was upgrade only I had to downgrade it to home premium again, by changing two reg keys: Edition ID and Product ID and then using the CD to downgrade. This could well be the cause?

Can anyone assist with why this might be happening and maybe also how to get around it?

All software used here is legit and I just cant understand why it would give me this..

From what I understand, it has to be an "Anytime Upgrade Product Key". If that's what he bought, then it should work. Otherwise, it won't.

Also, can you repost the screenshot using the Insert Image button on the toolbar? I'm having trouble accessing it for some reason.

All-right that's cool. I think that might be the problem then. It's come in a little box so maybe the anytime upgrade keys are only digital? either way it doesn't work frown.gif

Screenshot re-posted.
