It works perfectly. Of course after a BIOS update, but believe me, it runs as good as on a Z97 Motherboard. It runs on a Sabertooth Z87 in my Brother's System. Don't hesitate. Make the move. smile.gif

Hey guys, haven't been here in a while... just found out that the small 35mm fans were making an awful sound and had to unplug them... Anybody else that has had this issue?

I never used the fans. Never had a problem, you could probably buy a replacement

I'm not too worried about replacing 35mm fans, I have plenty of airflow in my case to cool down everything. Just wondering if anyone else had these fans go out this fast, I've barely had the motherboard a year and the fans already went out..

Just take the STUPID plastic cover off the motherboard and you'll have a fully breathable board with very cool temps, NOT requiring any dumb small fans at all to keep temps down.

I've removed the first P67 cover off mine and for the Z87 model as well, far better operation as a bare board than covering it with ABS rubbish for show thumb.gif.

My fans are still good to go thumb.gif

Getting ready to add white paracord to my main wires! I'll post when I'm done! Have to wait on the pin tool before I can start!

Yes?

First time doing this, did my first three and noticed I need a bit extra slack because it tightens up a bit when i run the cabling through. So the other end is about a inch short even though i melted them right on both ends to start. rolleyes.gif The cable just tighten up once i was done I guess.

Oh well, in this case it'll hide it and my next 50+ will go great! I won't fix the first three to remind myself not to mess up again. thumb.gif

Next time I post, I'll have the finished shot.

Hi everybody. I have a chance to get a good deal on this Z87 board, but I had a question about DRAM. I went to the Asus site and looked at the QVL for supported memory. I already have 16GB of DDR3 - G.Skill 2x8GB F3-1866C9D-16GXM, but it looks like this particular 2x is not supported on the list. Can anyone tell me if this will work and OC on the Z87 Sabertooth?

It looks like the F3-1866C9Q-32GXM is supported in the 4x8GB configuration, but the QVL list shows 1 DIMM and 2 DIMM as available optional support. I'm not sure how to interpret this; it almost sounds like lesser RAM totals can be set up with the C9Q, but is the same possible with the C9D?

Oh, also, what's the best airflow heatsink solution for this board? I'm thinking the Noctua D14 isn't going to fit. smile.gif
