I wish outlets were that cheap!

I'm only running stock on mine as well, not even Ghz edition. Don't need my outlet any hotter than it already is. biggrin.gif Seriously, though I'm going to have to look at that. Its warm but not hot. Think it may be a bad outlet. 1 UPS and 2 machines shouldn't make it that warm. heck the outlet the miner is plugged into is stone cold.

Depending on how much power you're pulling through it, could be too much current for the receptacle (at the limit/near the limit), old/worn outlet, corrosion buildup creating extra heat, or the wires (in the wall) themselves.

Lost some ground in the rankings, I am sure. My GTX 770 FTW crashed only when folding and crunching which I have tested before with no issues. Been working on the whole rig all day while having my 2nd pc crunching with the GTX 560Ti 448's. Not much help but i guess that is where I started from. Cooling should have been fine and temps looked very good though I stopped by Fry's and picked up a couple 120mm fans for my side panel today. I was going to get them to replace the ones I put in another rig anyway . My next assumption was how many components were on the same 12v rail. I was pretty confident it was just the one 12v rail on power supply. After all. That is what I thought I was paying for. Anyway, since the ps was semi-modular I put my cpu and 3 hdd +1 ssd on the cables directly owned by the power supply. then separately connected 2 pci-e cables to the gpu and 1 separate for my blu-ray burner. Whether that all made sense or not the results led to a perfectly functioning folding machine for Folding@Home. Must be some separate rails in there after all. So I am happy for that.

Now that that is over with I thought the BGB only has hours left but just confirmed the BGB is alive and kicking until the end of tomorrow. Pausing my F@H work unit and logging my rig into BOINC now. Maybe I could even gain back the position I was sitting on before the system started crashing. TIME TO CRUNCH! thumb.gif

Is there any point difference between CUDA collatz tasks and OCL tasks on NVidia? Really disliking the high cpu usage with these new units (at least I never noticed them taking up an entire core before)

Just noticed the options and set it to only grab cuda tasks.

Congrats!! I'm really like my results this time around too. Far cry from the mere 470,000-ish from last month.

The reference cooler on my 7970 has been driving me nuts since I sold all my WC gear and moved my BOINC rig into in my office.

I went ahead and shut it down for a couple of hours did a little modding, and now I can hear myself think and the temps, running Collatz at 1175/1550, never break 60ºC.

Now I just need to clean out the inside of my case.  Holy dust farm in there. eek.gif
