A quick question :-)

Well i the water installed, and at first glance i have dropped about 20c idle/load temps over my former Ninja Schyte - So im to say the least exstatic!!!!

Now before i post pics, temps, scores etc. I have a quick question:

1: When i installed the kit i read many many guides as to how i should do it. Only a few of them talked about a quick cleaning run to start with. However i admit i was to eager to get going so i skipped that part. The water running in the tubes are a bit "milky". Definately not as cool looking as the water i have left in the tec-protect-uv bottle. (I think some nasty stuff was inside the radiator) - Since i have over ½ left in the bottle i figure im gonna drain the water and readd it again. Is there anything i should be aware of? - or just go straight ahead and remove the lowest tube?

I would drain the system, flush it out with just plain water to make sure everything is clean then refill it. But other than that I wouldnt worry about it.

I was just worryd about using plain tap water. Doesnt that ... do something to the system or is that only if i use over a longer period?

I would think only over a long period because of the floride in it, It could rust the rad, But if just rinsing out the system it shouldnt be a problem. For long runs, use distiled water or the coolant mix that the system came with.

Take it apart, put 90% distilled water and 10% white vinegar in it overnight shaking it several time in that period...Rinse with distilled water till you cant smell vinegar anymore...I don't know what that crud is flux or leak testing scum or something in the rad, I clean my Rads that way before I ever use them...

It's always best to clean the radiator before installation. All you've got to do is look inside of it to see how dirty they are inside. I would do what the above poster mentioned, or you can also run about 90% water 10% alcohol, which will get the job done suffficently. Personally I never run straight tap water, for fear of leaks. You should always use distilled water, or better yet, a coolant such as mct-5, or fluidXP.
