PowerColor PCS+ R9 290? - Page 28

edit: i forgot.... msi afterburner doesnt stick power limit with my pcs+... it throttles when overclocked with afterburner so i use asus gpu tweak or trixx. Check if your card throttles if you are using ab.

I've only used trixx to oc the card so far. At 1215/1650 im about 1k gpu score below where I should be, I also noticed my cpu score is 1k lower as well. Something fishy is going on...

**gpuz reports 1215 +/- 3mhz on the core and solid 1650 throughout the benchmarks. Going to check valley.

so wait, what are the 290s supposed to be scoring in unigine 1.0?

i got 2700 points running 1680 at ultra settings and 8x aa
http://oi62.tinypic.com/34riwwi.jpg

and i have 8gb ram, 3770k i7, z77 mobo, running 13.12 drivers, at stock clocks also
post #273 of 1176
Hmm, scoring 57.9 at stock in valley. Almost seems like there's an issue with cards having hynix memory, as mine does and so were both of daymonds. Anyone with elpida that can do a stock run of firestrike, 3dmark11, and or valley at extreme hd settings?

Originally had reference 290 (can't remember which drivers some beta) but @ 1150/1450 it was scoring 12.3k for a gpu score, while the pcs 290 @ 1150/1450 on 13.12 is only scoring 11.7k which worries me. At stock its scoring between a normal 290 and 290x (closer to the 290x) so im curious as to what is going on.

Ok I just ran Fire Strike at 1150/1450:

http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/2673973?

GPU score 12269. As a point of comparison a reference 290 at 947 core 1250 mem scores 10019 gpu score on Fire Strike. Here is a chart showing gpu scores:
CREATOR: gd-jpeg v1.0 (using IJG JPEG v80), quality = 90

rv8000, I have Elpida ram, and here is Valley/extremehd at stock, ran it twice:

Width is ~27mm, it fits 80mm/92mm x 25mm fans.

And putting this there won't do anything. The point of this is to feed air to the gpu fans, so it needs to go below the gpu, or to the side where the airflow would go under the fans. But if you're worried about width you can get something like this instead http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0069W28SU/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=1919GFAWUUMAZ&coliid=I27JHB1RA2PC06 That's only about 15mm thick.

All of your scores are 5-7% faster clock for clock, my results mirror daymonds almost perfectly. I really do feel there is an issue with hynix based pcs cards. And here I was all excited about the amazing temps I was getting mad.gif

** valley @ 1040/1350 - 57.9 fps
firestrike gpu score @ 1040/1350 - 10630
firestrike gpu score @ 1150/1450 - 11590
firestrike gpu score @ 1215/1650 - 12107

Guys, don't forget that cpu does play a part as well. I'm running an FX-8350 at stock (about to put it under water again, and the gpu as well). At stock, I get 56.4/2360 in Valley Extreme HD with my Elpida equipped pcs+ 290. With a Sapphire Tri-x at 1225/1600 (hynix) I get 63.8/2668.

Can't wait to get my 8350 back to 5Ghz again!

well i tried using extreme hd, for some reason it defaults to custom and uses ultra settings, couple times i got higher points this time, one was over 2900 wow
i did 3 tests, tried gettting extreme hd but still goes back to custom settings, i dunno what the heck is wrong with unigine here

anyway here are my results sleepsmiley02.gif

scores,

2915

2714
http://oi62.tinypic.com/157fcrs.jpg
i find it weird i got 2714 on a test, then the two tests scored a bit higher headscratch.gif

the first test i posted in the thread earlier was a sharp 2700 also
seen here
