Advice on a new build

Thread Starter
I've been away from any news on whats come out for almost a year. I have found that the Intel Core 2 Duo is the best cpu right now. I want to build a computer around one for around 1500-2000 dollars. I would like some advice on what parts to use. Anything from ram to motherboards. I have been thinking about getting a 750GB HD though I'm not sure if it will fit in my budget. Thanks for any help.

Gaming and video editing mostly. I know its not much of a budget for this but its all i can afford right now. I am thinking of waiting until the dx10 cards come down to about 300.

If I do build it before then I will use onboard video instead of replacing a video card in just a few months.

Not sure if you need monitor, DVD drives, keyboard, speakers, case, ect:

E6600 $318

-Best price / performance out there

Sunbeam Turniq Tower $59.99

P5W DH Deluxe $225.99 shipped (newegg link for more pictures / info) or Intel XBX2 "Bad Axe" for $239.99
-I personally think that the Bad Axe 2 is the best motherboard to go with right now. I have used both P5B and P5W.

Crucial DDR2-1000 2GB (D9GMH/GXK) $309.99
-Excellent memory for a decent price

EVGA 8800GTS $379.99 shipped (after $30 MIR)
-EVGA offers step up and a great warranty.

2x Seagate Barracuda 250GB RAID0 $159.98 total
-High performance RAID0 + 500GB (want more space add 2 more drives for 1TB)

LG DVD Burner $29.99 (get 2 if you want)
-There are cheap SATA drives out, but they are all Out of Stock.

PC Power & Cooling 750W Silencer $199 (newegg link for more pictures / info)
-They come in black too, but they are all sold out. This is the top sub 1000W PSU out there.

Computer Case- I can't really pick one out for you. It is all about taste. Here are some popular cases:

Gigabyte Aurora Line
CM Stacker line

Total: You are looking at anywhere from about $1700 to around $1900 for the above parts.

Possible Upgrades:
