Haswell is not like sandy or ivy where you change vcore for clocks

theres a thread up with haswell oc'ing it's quite big, but there is some useful information in there, not sure what you have done so far but I would definitely check it out

I get dizzy reading that thread as numerous terms get bounced around for the same thing. I am trying to create a term = term listing for users that translates Asus BIOS terms into what HWMonitor or peeps commonly calls them .... so if ya know any, please list. For example

VID = The number ya set for Vcore in BIOS

That's for the OC Panel that comes with the Maximus VI Extreme. It can be purchased separately and also works on our boards.

I feel exactly the same way. They talk about a certain value and I go into my BIOS and I'm just sitting there scrolling through everything wondering where the heck it is.

Excellent idea!

I'm new to overclocking, and instead of getting overclocked, all I get is overwhelmed!

At 72, it takes awhile for things to sink in, and the KISS rule definitely applies.

Now another question for the whole club, does anyone of you have it on water with an EK Waterblock set?

I've seen an Asus video that said the 4pin is not really needed for most case, only for "extreme" overclock . I currently have trouble to stabilize oc when I go up to 1.3vcore.
I will probably give a try to bios 0804 as well. I'm on 1302 right now.

in the owners manual chapter 2 page 7 shows you can use 8 pin connector or a 4 pin connector in the 8 pin slot, or a 4 pin in the 4 pin slot on the board. It does not show the use of a 4 & 8 pin together.

You don't have to connect both of them, but you can. I personally hooked both up because I had custom cables made for both. Lol.
