Be aware that even RoG bench will raise ya voltage by 0.1 during the Open CL test.
The anodized aluminum is just fine, as for the EK one, the extra block tho is a bit of a PITA on any build that uses dual GFX cards ..... extremely hard to do the plumbing .... I shot the surface temps under load with digital thermometer and tho I can't remember the results I do remember being surprised at how low they were.

Thanks for the heads up, however I made sure to shut off adaptive as I am fully aware that it will override voltage settings and can cause cpu to run dangerously high with prime95 and aida64. I watched JJs vid as well as Linuses vid on haswell oc'ing, But i'm still fresh to the whole oc'ing world.

Well with that outta the way, I'll say that I don't find much use ....well not use but but don't see much ROI on my time playing with manual..... while I might use it for trouble shooting and since I will never actually use the machine other than on Adaptive, I don't see much use, other than posting ya CPUz screenshots, in testing on manual.

I wouldn't suppose it would cause an issue because of it being too shallow. I've seen a lot of builds that use the factory NB waterblock and haven't seen or heard any complains. The only thing issue I've seen with it is that is aluminum and not other materials. Hopefully this link is somewhat helpful (http://rog.asus.com/262892013/maximus-motherboards/mixing-alu-and-cooper-is-fine-if-you-anodize-right/)

Yup just using manual for testing, got that tip from linus, I will be turning it back to adaptive as soon as i am comfortable with a nice stable overclock.thumb.gif

I got mine dialed in to a more stable OC last night. My 4.7 wasn't holding up in gaming. I never really did an extensive test of it, though. I used RealBench 2.1 and got her stable at 4.6 @ 1.28v adaptive through the benchmark. Enabled my Trident X XMP Profile #1 (2134MHz 9-11-11-31), passed the benchmark again so then fired up the RealBench Stress Test for 8 hours. It crashed after about 30 minutes, so I bumped the voltage up to 1.3 still adaptive because the RealBench stress test isn't a synthetic bench. Stayed awake for about the first hour and no crashes, so went to bed and woke up this morning to everything kosher. thumb.gif

Nice, what do your core temps look like with that voltage?

During bench/stress it stayed in the 50s for the most part.
