H77M-ITX with XMP

Anyone have any ideas why XMP does not show up on a H77M-ITX board with an i5-2400S? The RAM has XMP profiles that work fine on a z77 board with a 3570k. According to AsRock the board supports XMP 1.2 and 1.3, and these models are 1.2. Is it likely this board just won't let you select higher than 1333mhz memory with a SB CPU?

What speed is the RAM? i7-2400S is a locked processor, it might not go higher than DDR3-1333. The memory controller is built into the CPU - could be that XMP is disabled on the 2400S.

1600mhz memory. I had a feeling that was the case. Oh well, I can run tighter timings at 1333mhz and it'll be good enough.

Sorry to drag this up from the grave but I have a i7-2600K and the bios refuses to let me run the RAM at DDR3-1600. It doesn't even have the option and there is no "Load XMP Profile" setting at all.
Did AsRock lock out RAM settings higher than DDR3-1333 for Sandy Bridge....

I do not know. I ended up getting a hold of a i5 3450 (Ivy Bridge) and now the BIOS lets me select the XMP profile on the RAM.

You need an Ivy bridge or newer CPU to use XMP.
