-2x r9 290 GPU:
-caselabs mh10 case

the only radiators capable of passive cooling for this system the aluminium and copper version of airplex gigant 3360 http://martinsliquidlab.org/2012/02/04/passive-0-rpm-fans-radiator-test/ i will first get 2 480mm radiators for a semi-passive setup

4x http://www.aquatuning.se/product_info.php/info/p13148_Phobya-4Pin-PWM-to-3x-4Pin-PWM-extension-40cm---black.html

pumps
1x http://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-d5-dual-top-g1-4-csq-black-acetal.html
2x http://www.ekwb.com/shop/pumps-and-accessories/pumps/ek-d5-series-pump/ek-d5-vario-motor-laing-d5-vario-motor.html
2x http://shop.aquacomputer.de/product_info.php?products_id=2345

tubing and fittings
1x http://www.aquatuning.se/product_info.php/info/p11153_Masterkleer-Slang-PVC-19-13mm--1-2-ID--Klar-15m--50ft---Boxed-.html
...to be completed

one of these should be enough to cool one GPU and one CPU passive

i was thinking of buying this radiator, but decided to go for 480+480+240 inside case with ap-15 fans fan controlled to 1000rpm you won't hear 20db.

If you are going to use this monster radiator you need a good pump

regarding the PSU go for at least 600w the r9 290 is very power hungry when overclocked

i am not sure about how much power the motherboard can supply the gpu with, the r9 290 can only get 262.5W direcly from the psu(this sucks), the total maximum amount of power i can supply to both the gpu and motherboard is 750W(rampage iv extreme FTW) so i will have to consider dual psu or a very quit psu or simply be happy with 20% overclock(or something).

as far as i know the motherboards PCIexpress delivers upto 75W from x16 PCIe connector so if the 8pin and 6 pin on the r9 290 deliver 262.5w you are looking at maximum of 75+262.5 = 337.5w

yes this is the official limitation but rampage iv extreme is a high end motherboard so it might be able to supply more to a single GPU, but i think i will be happy with only one seasonic platinum 520W fanless anyway, at least to begin with. i will now order http://www.ekwb.com/shop/blocks/motherboard-blocks/full-board-blocks/intel-x79/ek-fb-kit-re4-csq.html i know CircleS sucQ but there is no other options and it's worth the cost of 60$ to H20 the 8W chipset biggrin.gif

There really is no reason to go fanless... Unless you're taking that as a challenge.

I'd strongly encourage sticking two low speed fans on top and bottom of that radiator, pushing air in. Same for the case, put at least an intake and an exhaust fan, you'll be roasting everything either way. You'll have a cooling capacity orders of magnitude higher at virtually no increase in noise.

Background noise is likely to be higher than anything those fans will ever put out, anyway.

according to aquacomputer the cooling capasity of these radiators without fans is 750W and if that is the case i will be fine without fans(yes i take it as a challange), is there really anything in the case that will be roasted without fans? both the VRM and the chipset will be watercooled and i assume the ram will be fine if i do not overclock them to hard.

I have ordered a magnum mh10 case now and 2 r9 290 GPU:s is on the way, unfortunately the waiting time for the airplex gigant 3360 radiator is 45 days to i will have to go with some cheap radiator with fans now
8x http://shop.aquacomputer.de/product_info.php?products_id=3104 or maybe the 800 RPM ones
1x http://shop.aquacomputer.de/product_info.php?products_id=2827
2x http://shop.aquacomputer.de/product_info.php?products_id=3135
1x http://www.aquatuning.se/product_info.php/info/p12878_Alphacool-NexXxoS-Monsta-480.html
now i will have to decide which pumps to get, maybe a controller as well(for semi-passive setup), if i later buy the airplex gigant 3360 it would be nice to have 2 fans which start spinning if the water temperature get's to high. I have not yet decided if i will use the cheap mediocre radiator for my old computer or as a complement after getting airplex gigant 3360.

i also need to choose coolant, tubing, and maybe some fittings. I bought an adapter for quad psu from frozencpu.com and it costed 30$ with shipping so i think it was worth it.

Now i have reviewed my first part, it was the quad PSU adapter. update: i think i will be able install 2 80mm radiators+fans(not push/pull) now after installing the mobo in the mh10 case, the ram is not very tall so the radiator can be fitted before the ram and vrm.

2x http://www.aquatuning.se/product_info.php/info/p12878_Alphacool-NexXxoS-Monsta-480.html
4x http://www.aquatuning.se/product_info.php/info/p13148_Phobya-4Pin-PWM-to-3x-4Pin-PWM-extension-40cm---black.html
1x http://www.aquatuning.se/product_info.php/info/p16058_Aquacomputer-aquaero-6-PRO-USB-fan-controller--graphic-LCD.html (the waithing time was to long when ordering from aquacomputer directly)
1x http://www.aquatuning.se/product_info.php/info/p11314_Aquacomputer-Frontblende-f-r-aquaero-5-PRO-Aluminium-svart.html

1x http://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-d5-dual-top-g1-4-csq-black-acetal.html
1x http://www.ekwb.com/shop/blocks/motherboard-blocks/full-board-blocks/intel-x79/ek-fb-kit-re4-csq.html

I decided to get 800 rpm fans since i will use a fan controller to under-volt them depending on the water temperature
8x http://shop.aquacomputer.de/product_info.php?products_id=3105 i will not use push/pull and instead i decided to get two 480mm radiators since i am sure this will offer much better performance with the same noise level.

The aquaero 6 allows for semipassive fan setup and 2x 240mm radiators should be able do dissipate approx 200w even without fans.

edit: i found this http://martinsliquidlab.org/2011/03/10/pump-noise-testing-round-1/ it is very important for me that the pump us quiet but lang d5 might be quiet enough at low speed.

more parts arrived now smile.gif only my caselabs mh10 case is missing now, unfortunately i will have to pay 998 SEK = 156$ in VAT+tarrifs to fedex, less than expected but it is the first time i actually have to pay it.
210k7s7.jpg

edit: i got my mh10 case today and i have also installed everything except for the watercooling parts which i will order tomorrow, i have no good cpu cooler available atm but i could borrow the antec kühler 920 from my old rig or simply use a stock amd cooler.
2miayu.jpg
update: the caselabs mh10 can stand upside down using the 4 extra feets, however then the hdd cages and Door Hinges needs to differently aswell(i am certain this is possible). There is some potential benefits with this
+being able to see the nice GPU blocks and CPU block from my computer chair
+i will not see the ugly cd/dvd reader/writer
±the heat from the radiators mounted at the roof will now be at the buttom, the radiators will get fresh cold air but the PSU:s will be hotter.
+my cd/dvd reader/writer and aqueary 6 pro fan controller will be at the top and hence more easy to access.
+slightly easier to reach the front panel USB 3.0
