I tried running the memory at 2 000 MHz, it loaded up windows, I could start a game or After Effects for a short time, but it would do strange things.
I did alot of reading and found out that it IS possible to make the ram stable at 2 000 MHz with Thuban (and my ram is rated at 2 000 MHz 8-9-8-24-1T), but to do so, I must tweak the PLL and VTT voltage.
I found out that the PLL voltage is dubbed VDDA Voltage in my BIOS. Though I can't find the VTT. Can anybody help me with this issue ? My BIOS is as follows - American Megatrends Inc. AMI BIOS (Version 2101), AGESA version is 3.7.1.0
My board is as stated in first post - ASUS Crosshair IV Formula.

And some other questions -
  1. Can I lower any of the voltages I have set and which one would they be ? (I did play with them and lower them up to this point, but I don't know if I should lower them any further)
  2. Since I updated my BIOS earlier today, can I have a shot at a higher CPU Clock ? (like 4.2 GHz for example)
  3. What is the stepping used for, how can I change it/do I have to and what exactly does it do/represent ?

Thanks again to everybody that has helped me out ! thumb.gif

I have no experience with your motherboard or BIOS. So I can't help with where the VTT is, sorry mad.gif

But

1.) You always want the lowest voltage stable possible. Lower voltage means less heat, and that is always a big +

2.) Always try for higher, after all what is the worst that can happen sneaky.gif maybe a melted chip or board. Only joking, as long as you play a little safe you should be OK.

3.) Sorry once again I can not help here.
