Monsoon hardline compression fittings for rigid acrylic - Page 20

Hi every one,

I am new to building a hard line system and after doing some searching I found the Monsoon Chain gun fittings and fell in love with them. but being any new guy i had questions. I found Gene's email address and he was very responsive and educational. He alone is the reason i will be using Monsoon fittings in my build.

Does any one know if the primochil PETG tubing works with the Chain Gun fittings?

The Monsoon web site needs some serious updating, But Gene is great!

Do collar have to be seated 100% (flush)? Can i be off by a little? Or do i have to be exact, like perfect?

There is a small margin for error, but it's not very much. I would suggest setting the collars against the fittings in the case a few times to get as close to flush as you can. If you are a little off, then just re-heat your tubing slightly and make small adjustments until you get it right. Don't get all the way, just enough to move it a few milimeters

Regardless of whether or not they are flush, expect them to fail at some point.

Been 6 months and I have yet to have any failure or cracks or issues using Monsoon hardline fittings... In fact this loop has experienced the least amount of water loss of any loop I've designed (mainly because of the hardline).

Which obviously negates all the reports of failures that we have seen in this thread.

Mebbe THIS is why it was so difficult to fill out my Chaingun fittings. mellowsmiley.gif:

I had only purchased one 4pk, and went to PPCs to get more and they've been out of stock for so long I changed to economy compressions instead. Too bad too caue the quality of these Black/Red chaingun is off the chain. Gonna stick with the economy fittings. smile.gif
