Naw..
The Duke's written a 800V Monitor Mod...
All you do is snip the 3 kettle type cables togethor, add a Tagan 1KV Fuse and then you're in business.
All the bits cost you $12 from Ebay in Total, and you can free delivery.

Ok I didn't ready after the 1st page, but I'm 100% sure your resolution you're running in is refreshing at 60Hz and you have enabled Vertical Sync. What V Sync does is sync your Monitor's Refresh Rate with your Frames Per Second to limit Vertical Tearing of graphics (This doesn't always happen.) If you ever notice graphic tear when you move fast, then enable V Sync, but if you never experience Graphical Tear then don't even touch V Sync, with an 8800 you won't have to worry about it at all.

So disable V Sync in your nVidia settings and in all your games and you will see your FPS go way higher, not that it will make a difference at all though from what you are seeing.

So before you go and take some random crap advice like "Your case is HP, your drivers are crap, your pwer supply sucks." Just disable V Sync and you'll see what I'm talking about. If your refresh rate can go to 100Hz then do that and you'll be limited at 100 FPS; all in all just remove V sync.

you may get tearing - my monitor is 60 Hz, but its seen 200 fps and not torn

That is the MINIMUM to have smooth motion - i assure you that i can see the difference between 29.97 FPS and 50 FPS, and my brain can tell the difference way further.

I will agree that although the brain can see the difference between the FPS's, going over 120 is a bit pointless
Did you know that "29.97 FPS" actually is the double, because it is running interlaced.
I don't know how televisions exactly work, but I know that far that they run the double of what's indicated, due to the interlacing.
So 50 FPS, 100% smooth, is what's required.
The human eye sees more than 60 frames a second, and I really do notice when I'm running 60 FPS compared to 100 Hz (that's at 120Hz)

It's obvious that you don't notice a difference between 60FPS and 80FPS when you're running 60 Hz

*EDIT*

LOL 900Hz, thats like a paradox, the monitor would come to life and suck everything in it like a black hole into oblivion and we would all be doomed! oh noes!

Paul is right, the Human Eye can only detect from 30 - 60 I believe, and above that is just redundant.
There's a definite improvement going to, say, 90FPS from 60FPS, any hardcore FPS ('pun' not intended) gamer will attest to that - CRT screen implied.

If your current monitor is allowing 60FPS then why are you complaining about wanting to get a new monitor...The human eye cannot see more then 30FPS so there is not a point in spending more money to get a monitor that is going to allow 90-100FPS...Unless you were of course getting a Bigger monitor..
