They can only do what is agreed to in the contract with the game developer. And if you know your history around Jason West, Vince Zampella and EA, you'd be silly to think that they wouldn't have a contract that gave them full control of game development and release timeframe.

Afterall, it was EA's stupid mismanagement and forcefull tactics to try and dictate things to Jason West and Vince Zampella that lead them to move IW to Activision and release the CoD series their (and make Activision billions doing so) - so EA will be as supportive as possible with them this time around.

BF4 is from DICE, and DICE is a division of EA.

Plus, it is not in the same situation as Respawn - purely because of the history between Jason West, Vince Zampella and EA and the billions of dollars that Jason West & Vince Zampella made Activision with the CoD series.

FYI: Jason West, Vince Zampella and IW made almost as much revenue from CoD:MW2 then DICE has made from all BF games combined wink.gif

DICE are the developers, so DICE are the ones that created the buggy games, which EA then released/published. DICE is not Respawn, totally different companies, with different staff, different objectives, different contracts and different goals.

It is wrong, and ignorant, to say that because DICE developed BF4 (and EA released it full of bugs) that games developed by Respawn will be like that as well.

It was an analogy, use any music publisher, it doesn't matter - my point still stands. just because one music artist puts out a crap album with a music publisher, DOES NOT mean that all music artists from said music publisher will put out crap albums...

EA will not be in control of game development - they are the publisher. And read my first few sentences above for why, and go read the numerous news articles on EA, IW, Jason West, Vince Zampella and search for terms like intellectual property, artistic direction, developement, etc . There is history here, and can bet that Jason West and Vince Zampella's Respawn Entertainment will be in full control of the games they develop with EA.

Respawn has chosen to use Microsoft's Windows Azure for their titanfall servers, almost certainly due to XBOX one's use of Azure and the fact that Microsoft are backers of Titanfall for the XBOX and PC.

What that means is that there needs to be an Azure cloud services is Australian data centres before there can be aussie-released Titanfall servers.

With the big push of Microsoft cloud services to aussie enterprise/gov (ie. Office 365, cloud services, etc) it will not be long until Azure is in Australia (it's already been stated that it will be launched in Australia this year).

I agree, the latency between players is too high to enjoy at times - but when everyone is around the 150ms mark it is definitely playable and fun and offers a similar experience to xbox gaming (too high for competitive gaming though).
