I love FPS games - I played alot of ARMA3 and Crouch-Only servers in Black Ops - Getting a tad too old for the Run-And-Gun games. I love COD:GHOST, especially because their Hardcore games actually does turn down the pace abit.

Try Killzone. I would say it is a slow paced game comprated to COD or BF4.

lol I will never quit PC gaming... that's like comparing a ferrari to a geo metro.

PC gaming is just better looking, more experience, more competitive , more mature/adult crowd.

If you are an elitist, are a competition player, you will always go to PC first.

Not knocking the console, and I 'm sure many "casual " players enjoy it, but there is NO comparison.

Actually there are things that can be compared.

Visual wise and tech wisea PC can not be compared to a console, but stability wise I would not compare a console with a PC. Building a software for a specific machine and countless different types are just different stuff.

I agree on the rest though. Also console is NOT for only casual gamers. A person does not need to own a PC to be called a non casual gamer. That being said I am a casual gamer, but there are many people out there who spent countless of hours on a console than many PC gamers who call themselves hardcore.

It is all about preference.

Also ferrari vs Geo Metro comparrision is just silly and a fanboy phrase. No offense.

I know that I have commented about this earlier, but I am still in the decision process of switching to consoles. I am pretty obsessive when it comes to anything about the PC. This latest bout is being fought with monitors. I have tested about 5 different makes and models of monitors and it is really driving me crazy weirdsmiley.gif. I am looking for a dual monitor setup that will be used for the PC and the PS4/PS3. Every one that I get seems to have something "wrong" with it. By that, I mean I get to reading reviews after I purchase them and then exam each monitor way too much...and guess what? I have an issue and wind up returning them.

Seriously, between what the OP brought up and personal experience, I think I would save a lot of money and stress if I just switch over to console gaming and call it a day. I just built an HTPC and it works great for what I need it for. I don't think that I will sell my gaming rig right now, but I think I am done stressing over the entire upgrading thing and having the latest and greatest.

So, I guess that I will stay with one monitor and get a nice HDTV for my consoles. By the way, anyone have a good suggestions on a TV for consoles biggrin.gif.

Anyhow, good luck everyone and happy gaming, whatever your medium may be!

Ah dont start with the monitors redface.gif

I went through 4 different (expensive) monitors in the last 2 years for my PC. First it was 120HZ 3 Dvision ACER, than a Korean 1440p IPS, than a Asus 3Dvision 2 monitor and finally a Dell u2711... When I got the U2711, My next objective was a 4K monitor. And I am sure when I would have bought a 4K monitor than the next setup would have been a 4k 120hz monitor etc... I was so obssesed and I lost my money although I am sure I always chose the best options for the time.

I now have an AOC 1080p monitor which I use for my Mac mini and my PS4 if I ever take my PS4 to my study room if wife is watching something else on the living room. And I can not see myself switching from a good looking 1080p 60 hz monitor anytime soon because, there is not a single need or an improvement for me since I am not a PC gamer anymore. 1080p is just perfect for me.

For the last 2 years I had an INCREDIBLE PLEASURE with my PC gaming experience. It was AMAZING. But looking at my credit card history, I would have been MUCH happier financially if I stuck with the PS3. Also like I said in my first post, besides the money, I was obssessed with getting the best performance out there. How Can I decrease the temperature a bit more, how can I OC more. Oh I need a case with a better airflow let me change the case I own etc... These were GREAT HOBBIES. I had soooo much fun, but for me it was enough. I want simpler things in life. And a console is just an incredible option for me. If I was to have a gaming PC right now, I would have spent more time tweaking than playing. Now with a console, there is no tweaking but gaming.

But again guys these are all my personal experience. None of the things I say here are a universal truth or something like that. We are all different people.

Yeah, I enjoy it, too. However, it is time to simplify things. I am going to get an Acer H236HL 23" 1080p 60 Hz monitor. It is relatively inexpensive and has some great reviews. I actually bought one and returned it because it has a glossy screen. However, the picture was pretty incredible. I would be able to hook my consoles up to it, as well as my PC.

I drive my wife crazy with upgrading and purchasing more components. She doesn't understand why I cannot just be content with what I have, and to be honest, I don't know why either. I mean, I originally built a PC to game on, but it just turned into what you have described. I admit, I love it as a hobby, but it is very expensive and time consuming. Like you said, with consoles there is no tweaking. You can just turn it on and play and you know that you are going to have a great gaming experience. I mean, I know that you can do that with your PC, too, but on consoles you are playing games specifically designed for consoles. Sometimes, PC games are just ports of console games and you can run into problems that makes you want to tweak your PC some more.

Sorry, that was long winded rolleyes.gif.
