Car intake in computer - Page 3

Yup he's right, but my 190cmf fans sound like jet engines. 60 odd DBa, really are amazingly loud

Lol calm down with the language ppl, if a mod see's it they will give you both a warning.

It's a mod, so therefore you would have to mod the case, to fit the as you say "to big for a computer because I'm an idiot" intake manifolds.

You need to have some creativity when it comes to modding.

I've frequently thought of this, though, it most certainly has been done before.

that would be a siick mod. why not try and see if this "supercharger" works (obviously $350 is a lot for some BS..ive seen it for $40). lol. it claims to move massive amounts of air, your computer might even have 15-20HP!

IMO you dont need the whole intake piping. its not going to provide enough airflow. 2 fans and the curved pipe should be more than enough.

That's a good lookin CAI. Only problem is, the intake does nothing more than filter the air comming into the engine then lead the air to the combustion chamber. The reason they call it a Cold Air Intake is because it sits below the block usually behind the front bumper. The air there is cooler than the air around where an SRI (Short Ram Intake) sits. The reason why aftermarket intake systems perform better than stock systems is because they allow more air to enter the engine. more air = more power. As an cosmetic mod though, that would look awesome.

You'll go deaf the second after you hit the power switch.

I hope some kind of cage would go overtop of that if you're using it as an intake...and that no pets or small children get too close.
