Is AM3+ Worth Investing In? - Page 4

Thread Starter
Thank you everyone in this thread for the board recommendations smile.gif I was able to pick up the GIGABYTE GA-970A-UD3P AM3+ for $94.99 with the EMCPHPC32 coupon on Newegg.

As much as I wanted to support ASUS, I definitely need the 8+2 power phase that this Gigabyte board offers.

Right now it feels like AMD is betting all of its chips ( biggrin.gif ) on APUs and abandoning AM3+ as a viable socket type.

I absolutely love my AMD Phenom II X6 1605T CPU but I don't want to sacrifice future upgrades to satisfy the present.

we do not know if new cpu will come out for AM3+. we do know FM2 cpus are getting HSA and has been getting new CPUs.
