Sadly this ~10% bump will only help it catch the 780ti in games that actually support it. Heres to hoping for the future since MMO based games where the processor is the bottleneck is what I play most and this could make an amazing difference in those situations.

stick with the 780Ti. 3GB should last awhile.

Uhhh the 290x beats the 780ti in it's fair share of games. It's already faster in the one game that currently supports mantle (bf4) and mantle will only increase the lead the 290x holds over the more expensive 780ti in bf4.

Damn, pretty nice.

Even on high end systems, a 10% increase is massive in my opinion.

Clock for clock they are comparable but the 780ti will usually OC higher than a 290X & gain the lead or equal out in a bf4 plus mantle situation. That is what it looks like currently anyways. My current Ti does 1260 & 7800 with stock voltage on air, I don't see a 290x beating that by much or at all with 1150mhz & mantle paired with a high end intel cpu. Like I said though, I really hope to see more in the future. I'm sure in an MMO this tech could dominate & I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

The fact that high end systems benefit less seems to disappoint some people... Personally I'm excited that I might be able to xfire R9 290X's on my 1366 system.biggrin.gif

Battlefield 4 Single Player (which is what they tested) is easily the most GPU bound game we have right now, let's hope someone releases a Mantle review using the MP, including min FPS, that will be interesting to see.
in battlefield 4 290's crossfire with mantle will be better than 780ti's smile.gif
