Yes 2x 290 non x are enough for 30fps+ at 5670x1080.this cards are made for having enough power for 4k

One issue that. 3-way crossfire of r9 290s would run into is that (I believe) all displays need to plug into the primary card and I don't see a 290 with more than 4 inputs.

What should I do? I don't want to split an image between 2 monitors.

One 7990 for about $1,000 is starting to sound better, given the heating issue, more expensive motherboard (3-way sli), and power supply constraint. What do you think?

Thanks again for all advice and opinions, I appreciate you guys taking time to look at this.

How about air cooled MSI Lightning 7970s in quadfire? I know it goes above the initial budget, but it seems to be one of the few solutions.

I've seen pictures of Vega's watercooled setup, but since I don't know enough about watercooling to put that much money at risk - I'm wondering if aircooling in quadfire is even plausable.

What do you guys think?

What's your proof? Please don't spout misinformation.... 3Gb would be enough. (-_-)"

OP I would go with 290's, or 290X (if you can). They should handle that resolution well if you turn down AA, and if you still need more power, you can increase it to tri fire or quad fire (if you get more cash).

LMAO! That's your proof? lachen.gif... You put links of Titans. Don't you know anything about v-ram allocation, or you just choose not to educate yourself on that topic? You're the one that needs research, and you must be delusional to think that 3gb cards can't handle 5400x1920.

I've done my research mister, even 2gb is enough for a resolution greater than that. rolleyes.gif It's ridiculous that you would say that quadire 3gb 7970's would run out of V-ram on 5400x1920. I can't even deal tongue.gif
